Unable to Withdraw from PayPal and They Make Excuses

I got paid from a transaction with Paypal, more than $2k worth and been trying to withdraw the money with nothing but issues
I've had my ID and bank account verified

First excuse from them: my bank account was not verified

Second excuse (copied from the chat): I understand your situation right now. At the same time, our system is not allowing you to withdraw money. We also have other ways on how you can withdraw money. You may request for a check or you can get cash at Walmart. We also have a PayPal Cash MasterCard which will let you withdraw money anytime without any hassle. Their customer service took forever to reply, my money is stuck with them

    i had a problem withdrawing from the website about ID verification, however support said everything was fine with my account and that i should use the app to withdraw, which worked for me. have you tried using the app?

    Yes, they do this often even with long time seller. Just do what they ask you to do. It takes a while but you’ll get your money in the end.
    Don’t use PayPal to receive money if you don’t like this.
    I’m pretty sure they hold your money hostage to accumulate interest somewhere.

    Tried both the app and website. Few times error then one time got through but declined

    Any suggestion? For a company like Paypal their system and customer support is a nightmare

    Make sure the name you used on all accounts are the same.

    Considering customer service suggested the US options for withdrawal, you didn’t accidentally create a US account by mistake?

    Ask them to pay for the the plane ticket in order to get to the nearest Walmart, which is in LA (okay the easiest one compared to Hawaii)

    Have you tried withdrawing to a card linked to the account? It's instant but they do charge a fee

      Tried linking the card and it said error but my bank account is already linked and verified

    This is why i only use Paypal to make payments. With large transactions you can be guaranteed to go through the same nightmare, even if your account had been verified in the past.

    Reading through the comments, I wonder if anyone has lodged a complain with AFCA? And what's the outcome?

      I did, Paypal managed to find ridiculous reasons and tied them with their T&C's so AFCA couldn't do much.

      In my situation, my account was limited permanently and could only withdraw after 6 months.

      Numerous calls to them did nothing.
