I've come up with a new recipeh!

      • Leave a few noodles uncooked and then sprinkle them on top afterwards like a garnish. Gives you an extra little fun bonus crunch.

I hate Maggi noodles. They're kind of slimy and taste bad when cooked (not too bad eaten dry). Much prefer Fantastic noodles.

      Ok

    • Nah not feeling it, must be you

    • SHin Ramyun is where it's at!

    • Slimy no! Probably cooked the f out of it. Just don't over cook it and you'll be fine.

      • Followed instructions on packet, plus a lot of experimenting with over or under time 🤷‍♀️

Took ten years of childhood to work out there isn't a way to cook them that makes them good. Now I am an adult and can choose to spend the extra couple of cents on a noodle snack that I actually enjoy (Fantastic chicken noodles)

    • I used to love them, but then they changed to a lower fat recipe many years ago, and removed all the taste along with it. I was devastated, they used to be so good.

Not too bad, but I prefer the Aldi 2min noodles and they only cost 89cents for a 5pack.

  • Oh it's a fun snack alright.. real fun

  • Don't get this rubbish, if you want the real Maggi you gotta get the ones from the Asian shops, there's Tom Yum, Kari (curry), Assam Laksa, and Ayam (chicken), those stayed true to what it tasted like 25 years ago. The ones I tried from Colesworth in the last few years are all generic and bland. Goes about $2.50 to $3.50 a pack.

    • Yeah the curry one is really good.

      • Curry one is the best.

    • Masala Maggi

anyone going for cheap (n don't mind unhealthy) instant noodles might as well go with those even cheaper ones at Coles/Woolworths/Aldi since they all pretty much taste the same:

    Coles
    $1.00 (chicken/beef)
    https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/coles-chicken-i…
    https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/coles-beef-inst…
    $1.50 (mi-goreng)
    https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/coles-mi-goreng…

    Woolworths
    $1.00 (chicken/beef)
    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/521257/cho…
    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/521258/cho…
    $1.50 (mi-goreng)
    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/521259/cho…

    Aldi
Simplee 2 minute instant noodles 5 pack (chicken /beef flavor)
    99c (or 89c?)

    • I find the Coles noodles actually have a better texture than the Maggi (non-asian) ones. The Maggi noodle is not as springy and slightly mushy. Soup wise, they all taste very similar, just generic chicken/beef powder.

I was in an Asian grocer the other day and saw some people still buying Maggi?
Did someone serve me up a dud because last time I tried these tasted no different to 89 cent ALDI noodles.

I go there for the indomie noodles either Hot n Spicy cup - which was 85c or 10pk for $4. Reject Shop is also good for $2.25/5pk.

  • I have all of them available S&S $1.80 .

  • the choice mi goreng for $1.50 is crazy value I mix these into diet sometimes
