It's akin to a Nest Hub, with a camera for duo calls. I have both a nest hub and this, very similar, but with camera and front facing speakers. Good price.
Is the google hub the same as this just cheaper?

Nest hub from Google is still better due to slight differences in software and rollout of new features. I have both.

Yeah but in reality weigh up that feature vs practical use for yourself. I've never used it apart from a test call.

You can't install apps, but it acts as a Chromecast destination, so you can watch Netflix, SBS, iView, etc, by casting from another device (or, in the case of Netflix, using the voice commands).

Well i wont be buying another one of these units. Had it just over 1 year and it dropped dead today. What a crock. Will try my luck with Lenovo tomorrow but wont hold my breath.
Is this like the Lenovo Smart Clock, but better?
