DeWalt 18V Brushless 1x 5.0Ah 125mm Angle Grinder Kit $249 @ Total Tools Free Delivery (Also at Other Retailers)

70

This was $199 from Sydney Tools many months ago as a pre-order, but quite a nice bit of kit that includes the tool, the battery and the charger. The battery alone costs $149 so $100 for the tool and the charger is a bargain.

18V should be more than enough for home use (DeWalt also do a more powerful 54V version, but be careful, angle grinders are serious tools)

Other stores have the same deal as well (Bunnings, JustTools to name a couple) so feel free to chose your store of choice.

Edit: I've just seen it for $189…Cairns Hardware FB post

I'm a twit. Ignore this FB post, it's an oldie. $249 still the best deal.

Enjoy!

18v is really good enough for home use. After all a lot of tradies are using 18v tools.

    • Heck some are still using 12V drills :)

that said, 54V is amazing. I compared my dad's Bosch Blue 18V circular saw with my 54V DeWalt circular saw a while ago. Night and day performance difference.

$249 is a decent price for a new mountain bike

I got one of these 125mm Paddle Switch angle grinder skins for $118 last year, awesome tool, I love it, I use it a lot… (much better than the older model Dewalt grinders which had a fairly slow disc speed)

It chews through my 4AH batteries pretty fast though, not a big deal, it's not like I'm using it all day every day…

I often use it with a cheap $8 60-tooth Aluminium Cutting Blade for cutting aluminium, PVC pipe, and timber, damn handy…

Cheaper than the skin on its own :)

  • How does one take advantage of the Cairns Hardware deal, not residing at the state of Queensland?

That facebook post is from last year… wonder if they still honour?

    • Drat. I completely missed that, thanks for picking up on it. I've edited the post.

  • Ignore the "save $388" remarks. I struggle to sell my spare brand new chargers for $40, 5ah battery is really worth $100 tops and often given away free with packs and skin prices are not true value. No one buys skins by themselves when you can buy multi tool kits for less …

Still a good deal, I use mine for trade use for 2 years everyday with no issues
