JB Hi-Fi Telstra Plans with $500 Gift Card - Possible to Repeat?

Almost a year ago I signed up for a $65/month plan with 40+20GB Data with JB and got a $500 gift card.

It has been well documented on this forum that it is possible to port in as an existing Telstra customer by purchasing a $2 Optus Sim and porting to it, then porting back on the $500 gift card plan. What I am not sure about is, has anyone done this when on the JB Telstra deal already? If so, this would mean I would be able to get a $500 gift card for the second time (if this plan shows up again soon).

My contract expires on 4 December. If it's possible, what are the steps I need to do to make sure I am able to do it successfully? (e.g. change of FNN, etc.)

    Port $2 sim to Telstra and merge it with your existing account. I’ve repeatedly done that,Telstra doesn’t care.

      what does merging mean exactly? Does it mean the contract transfers to your existing number and the ported number gets cancelled?

        You ask the customer service rep for a "Change of FNN" - basically it does what you said above.

    If you want to keep your number I was told to change to another provider and then in 30 days time you can bring your number back to Telstra and be eligible for the JB Hi Fi Promotion.
