AU stock. You decide whether you want to pay more for that or not. But dont expect them to beat import pricing.

    • +26

      Hi POWERevolution

The ebay item is iPhone 4 not 4s.

Please compare apple to apple, can't alway beat the grey importer stock, put some value on Local stock, GST and Warranty, also beware some grey imported mobile phone will dial "999" instead off "000" on emergency call.

For one that is arguing for modern capitalism doesn't seem to understand it.

A product can consist of the physical product it self and any services (perceived or real) that are associated it.

Therefore even though the physical product is identical, the service level isn't. Therefore they are allow to charge for it. If you don't think these services are real or tangible, go grey, but there are people who do and willing to pay.

In country sevice arrangements cost and are worth every cent if you have a warranty problem.

Import or local… there is a BIG difference but it is up to the individual if they want to risk it.

        thanks in advance!!

Note:The TRS (tax refund scheme) does not apply to goods purchased overseas via the internet-http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4366.asp#e1162 see the last bullet point. So it will work for mobileciti but not places like DWI or amazon etc.

  • Do you have xperia play in white? Didnt seem to see it on the page.

We only have the black one. Cheers!

  • Can someone help a silly girl out? A friend recently got the 4S 16Gb on a $29 optus cap plan, with handset repayments of $18 per month. Doing the math: 24 months contract x $18 per month = $432.00. I understand obviously that the $29 per month cap plan must also be paid ($696.00) which is a total outlay of $1128.00, but spread over 24 months. Now why would a person pay $828.00 for the same phone, have to come up with that money instantly, and then pay a FURTHER amount each and every month to have an operating sim in the phone? Even if its less than $29.00 per month? By my reckoning, those who buy a phone outright would have to be on a $12.50 per month plan over 24 months, any more than that and they are worse off?
Im sure there are reasons, just help me out with a couple, and ill see if they apply to my situation?
Is it simply for those who may which to upgrade hypothetically to iphone 5, for instance, in 12 months time? Is it freedom, baby, yeah? Is it a hatred of Optus?
Think of all those optus qantas frequent flyer points you would miss out on too!!!

    • Sorry if im off topic. Im gonna get in trouble arent I.

      • No trouble. There is a forum here on OZB where you can ask such questions. Link at top of page.
It is preferred you do that there than within a bargain post like this.
        Cheers … :-)

        • Sorry. Thanks everyone.

    • +2

      The only reasons I can think of people not going on postpaid contracts are;

      1. They simply arn't eligible. i.e. International Students, Bad credit Rating etc.
      2. Purchasing it as a gift, i.e. XMAS is coming soon, and having a tethered phone against a contract isn't generally a "full" gift
      3. Choice of Telco, as you've already identified. Optus coverage is bleak in certain areas, much like my suburb. Vodaf(ail)one is self-explanatory. Telstra plans for iPhones are way too expensive a monthly budget. Now one can argue, budget per month over time is easier to handle, but what if the job you hold isn't the most stable?

There are definitely pros and cons of buying outright vs tethered to a plan. Some plans offered by MVNOs such as LiveConnected are close to zilch payment per month for an incredible amount of calls/text. Some would even go as far to use the phone as a VoIP client, mainly to take advantage of road-warrior international phone calls which are daylight-robbery rates by Wireless Carriers.

However, the financial aspect you have raised is definitely valid. I have often wondered this on my own as well.

    • +3

You probably haven't seen Liveconnected or TPG's mobile plans.

With their extremely competent pricing, you can still come out ahead.

    • There are people who may just want the phone, there are people who want to upgrade out of contract, and, there are people who want a phone that isn't offered by the carrier that has the exclusive deal with the phone.

Eg, Motorola RAZR is on Optus, I'm on Vodafail, I'm not moving to Optus (wait time in the call centres are longer), so I'll have to buy the phone outright. =[

EDIT: Forgot about the phone network hipsters who sign with those random companies that do SIM-only deals.

EDIT2: I didn't see the two posts above me. They cover it all, really, and in better words than me, too.

    • Well what is included in the $29 month cap plan with optus? better than what amaysim and tpg offer? everyone has different phone usages, so it's quite subjective.

With my tpg sim, i pay $18 a month for a $500 cap including international calls with NO Contract + data.

or i could plug in an amaysim for $40 a month and have unlimited national calls & text with NO Contract + data.

I love having control over my phone plan. If TPG or Amaysim or someone else release better plans im not locked in and can just jump to the best deal. furthermore my phones arent locked to any carriers. and when going overseas this can help (i think)

Also, i could sell my phone at any stage, and keep my number etc. can u sell ur phone and unlock it while it's on a contract? i dont know…

      • While I agree with everything else…
…. furthermore my phones arent locked to any carriers. and when going overseas this can help (i think)

On thi sI have to disagree
I have had 3 contracts with "3" so far and every time immediately after I get the handset I call them and ask for the handset to be unlocked. I tell them I am going overseas and in 5 minutes my handset is unlocked.

        Works everytime….

    • If you don't get the phone on a plan, you can switch your service much more easily and cheaply. Somebody might even be on the same Optus plan, but change plans in a few months, or change providers entirely. Your explanation is logical, but assumes taht nothing will change for 24 months.

  • -1

    Why i get $628 for sgs2?

    • Because it seems that it is only for the Telstra 850mhz branded SGS2.

      • +1

Discount is applied to all samsung i9100 models. thanks

    • Did you use the coupon code to get the $50 discount? If you already placed the order, just email us your order number, we will refund to you tomorrow. Thanks

      • +1

        I did, but it was $628 - $50, not $549 -$50…

        • $549 is after discount price. the original price is $599. thanks

        • +2

Do a search for i9100. Only the 850MHz version is $599. There is a $50 discount making it $549. This is a decent price for Australian stock. Kogan grey import is $538 delivered. Definitely worth the extra $11 for an Australian model.

However I thought it was $549 - $50 too! That would be awesome :)

      • +1

if only you do $549 - $50 on this one http://www.mobileciti.com.au/samsung-galaxy-s2-i9100-white
