    I don't yet own a PS5 (or any other playstation at the moment). But when I do get a PS5 sometime next year I'd like to play God of War.

    Am I wise to make a Sony account now and buy it on the assumption it will be downloadable and backwards compatible on my "yet to exist" PS5?

        This launch deal is likely to only last a month or 2. Though there is no word on when it stops. I guess it might be till the pre-order debacle slows down.

          You cannot redeem PS+ Collection games if you do not have a PS5 unless you get someone else to login and do so on your behalf (I don't mind if you really really want).

          However, I'm sure they'll give plenty of notice before they discontinue PS+ Collection games, if they ever do. No mention at all.

          You can however redeem monthly PS+ games and I think Bugsnax via the new PS App.

            @Hybroid: Yeah I couldn't see anything posted online about loopholes yet. I added bugsnax on my browser, though it was only the PS5 edition unfortunately. I think I might give that a crack, do you add them as a bundle or separately? Would be nice if they stay but I'm sure they will put a time frame on it so that people will rush to buy one before it ends but I would guess they would give decent warning like you said.

              @Damannation: Bugsnax PS5 version is the only free one, PS4 is still paid.

              You add games separately one by one and it annoyingly sends you a 'purchase receipt' e-mail each time.

    Yes it will, but If you just want to play it, get PlayStation plus when you buy ps5, it is one of the giveaway game. If you want to own it, buy it later, will only go cheaper.

      Cheaper by how much, a couple of dollars? If he wants to play it now and own the game, now is a good time to buy.
      Edit: Even if it's "sometime next year" he gets the PS5, still can't see it going cheaper any time soon.

          $56 compared to $12 though. If you aren't into online game or gaming much you would be better off just getting the game. PS+ is great don't get me wrong but some people never play the free games or play online so might not be for them.

    I think I’ll pick up the last of us 2 for that price. It’s one of my favourite games of all time and I’ll definitely want to replay it again. Might wait and see if they update it for my ps5 though before I go back and play it again.

          Yes, you will receive the free upgrade to the Ps5 version if you buy the physical/digital PS4 version of said game.

          Obviously the ones that says “free Ps5 upgrade” like borderlands 3, mortal kombat 11 ultimate, AC valhalla, Watch dogs legion, etc.

          Not every game has a ps5 update, but some games that had a ps4 pro update run pretty well on the ps5 and support things like 4k/60fps already.

        Tat's true, I've seen it for $10 to $15 on Gumtree. Buying this means I can't sell it off once I'm done but I'm quite okay with digital version of older games. Plus I don't need to plan/wait for a suitable meet-up & drive (or take train) to meet up with the sellers which were at least 20 mins away. I think that 2$ is worth it for saving me the trouble.

            Yeah there will be cases like this, like how it's $10/$12 for a number of PS4 games now across several platforms & they'll definitely get cheaper over time. I don't mind $12 for an older game in digital format as I'm pretty used to digital on Steam/GoG.

      Really fun game, haven't had the chance to do couch co-op with it yet, but the original game was one of my favorite couch co-op games as a kid. If you like Mario Kart or other kart racing games then I think you would like it.
