Hi, I want to buy a retro Laminate table - the top is in beautiful condition but there is a fair amount of rust on the (removable) table legs - rather more than just a cleaning job.
Does anybody have any idea how much it would cost to have them replated, and if possible a recommendation of where to go to get this done?

Either way, you will need to remove the rust.
You can't just plate over rust. (Well you "can" but you wouldn't.)
If you can't find someone to do it close by, it might be cheaper and more convenient to simply buy replacement chrome legs. Also depends on if you like the look of the new ones and if the new ones attach the same way as the old ones.
You might be able to get a lot of the rust off by rubbing it with aluminium foil dipped in salt water.
A metal finisher should be able to provide a quote if you have photos
