Self-Installation of Head Unit / Car Stereo Honda CRV

I'm looking at self-installing a Head Unit / Car Stereo for my Honda CRV 2003.
It currently looks exactly like this: https://aerpro.com/sites/default/files/styles/medium/public/…

I just want something with AUX. Bluetooth would be a plus. And something that will last me forever.

Firstly, do I need to get a adaptor from Aerpro? Why is that?

Do I also need to get a "Facia" what even is that?
Is that just to make it look good, and I might not need it?

Secondly, what would people suggest? I don't want a cheap eBay one as most reviews say they work for just a year.

Would any of these be a smart purchase?

Do you think there will be Black Friday deals I should wait out for?

Thanks for your help.

The adaptors convert the Honda plug to ISO then from ISO to your stereo brand.

The facia is the plastic surround that will fill any left over gaps in your dashboard if your existing stereo is not a DIN or Double DIN.

Upload a picture of your current dashboard.

  • Any $100ish headunit will last.
Try to get one that 'matches' the style and interior of the car

Just get a headunit and go from there, car is not really a keeper

These are pretty simple to change over, just need about 30-60 minutes depending on how handy you are with the screw driver.
I'd personally stay away from the JBS. I spent $200 on a double din android player out of Aliexpress and the value for money on it is phenomenal. You may still need the fascia kit to tidy it up though. But yeah, will just need an iso wiring harness for honda and you'll be good to go.

    • Nice. I can always get the fascia kit later then if I need to I guess too.
I'm guessing this can be something where a little bit of extra cash can always get you something better.
So I think I'll just stick with the basic one.

  • Facia are mounting brackets to fit your car and also it acts as a 'face' and fills up the the gap around where u install the headunit. Yeah just wait for black friday, its 10 days away might as well
