I work as a nurse in community mental health. Alot of my consumers don't have a phone at all no land line no mobile. They don't have the finances to go out and buy one. I imagine there must be many old mobile phones sitting unused in cupboards that still function, the more basic phone the better actually. Any ideas on anywhere that would donate these? I can organise postage if anyone has something thanks.
Old Donation of Mobile Phones?

I support this comment. There may even be an existing program, but not widely known.
They could probably donate those old prepaid phones they can't shift no matter what and get a tax deduction.
Hi,
I noticed the other day a Chemist offering UV Mobile cleaning and also…
https://www.abc.net.au/triplej/programs/hack/how-to-disinfec…Don’t centrelink or a related agency give them out for free? When Dan decided I couldn’t get a work permit I had to go on jobseeker and one of the agencies offered to organize a free phone if I didn’t have one.
Try contacting these people: https://www.mobilemuster.com.au/
Google for an eWaste recycling area. They might be able to help.
For those looking to donate, in our area, you can donate them to the police department. They started taking them to help victims of domestic voilence.
Also, it can't actually be excessively old. I have a perfectly intact and pristine nokia handset that that unfortunately will no longer work as it only supported the 2G bands. AFAIK, 2G service was shut down sometime in 2018
When did you buy it? 2G phones haven't really been a thing for a very long time. Telstra kept their network around but surely no one was buying new 2G phones for ages?
July 2009. 😁
Try Givit - its a charity to appeal for specific goods people need, so you can donate directly.
You could go direct and organise it here. No need for intermediaries.
There are many community members who are are the consumer treadmill and get the latest mid range phone.
Have you tried contacting someone like Telstra? These places have mobile musters for old phones and might be amenable to a request for a "charity" option. They might be able to do you a deal on mobile plans at the same time.
