Not in any way associated but bloody hell this is good cheese.

I have to say that I am not a big cheese-eater but it spreads well on bread for a tasty snack.

The crack of cheeses. So good.

  • I am a big fan of this cheese, but ended up switching to the Yarra Valley - Persian Fetta, has a very similar taste and less expensive; at Costco it's $9 for 500g.

    • Meredith Dairy are very careful not to mention the words Persian and Fetta with regards to this marinated goats cheese 🤔

    • Personally find the Yarra Valley is a lot more crumbly and has a harder texture - the Meredith spreads like butter, excellent with avo.

  • How long does it last in the fridge once opened?

I've found it's ok for a couple of months - it's in oil which helps. Also the oil tastes great too.

I have one of these tubs in the fridge right now, I'm about half way through a month after opening.

  • This is really awesome cheese. I've tried other marinated goats cheese brands, but this one is by far the best!

  • how longs the shelf life?

NM, can't get there on that day, will still be in hospital post op :/

Just checked the one I have in my fridge - best before Jun 2021. So ages. I got it about a month ago.

In my experience they last in the fridge for months without any issues.
Best before is often 6+ months

  • Damn, I'm in QLD. Also here to recommend the crack cheese. Its really damn good. Like many others here I've got a jar in the fridge at the moment!

Pretty sure I paid $14.99 or $15.99 for 550g from Costco last week.

  • Unit savings not significant over the regular Costco price here to justify the extra upfront spend IMO.

Also - agree with other posters - the crack of cheeses.

    • What is the regular Costco price?

      • $14.99 or $15.99

This is the cheese that got me into goat cheese. I eat more bread as an excuse to mop up all the oil too.

Just took a look at an old receipt - $14.99 for 550g

        • Please take a photo next time you go. Might have to get a Costco membership for my next fix

@JMosk: Ask around, I am sure you will find a friend or two with Costco membership who can buy you some. The saving is not worth $65/year surely…

Otherwise you're eating too much cheese !!!!

I'd recommend taking a look at the practices of the industry you support when you purchase this cheese.

This footage was filmed at Meredith Dairy's farm.

    • OK so I did some investigation and it looks like this a common procedure but the process at the Meredith farm was a fair bit more awful then it should be…
