Animal crossing winter update was just announced. Now I normally wouldn’t share but given the long awaited island transfer feature has arrived I thought I would share for those who have an animal crossing switch in their cupboard waiting for this feature.

From 19/11 you will be able to transfer your entire Animal Crossing island to a new switch.
You will also be able to transfer a single resident (who is not the island representative) to a new switch.

    Not if you have the digital version. The rules for how it works are complex so you’ll need to Google.

    Basically you make yourself owner of both Switch. One is your Primary console you give to your kid. They can create an account on it and run the game whenever.

    You use the Secondary console. Only you can use it. And it does an online check every 3 hours, without which the game won’t load.

  Urgh, when I saw the talk about the home I was hoping for another expansion or more extrior customisation options but just more storage…

  This is still the most disappointing mainline AC imo (yes, that includes Let's go to the City).

  At least we can sit and transfer our save now.

  At least they finally added the ability to visit random dream islands, but you still can't say what you thought about it at all and more importantly can't search by island name like NL.
