Was browsing a cheaper alternative to the $129 Oculus Link cable.
This comes well reviewed by many people.
It’s normally $44.99 but appears to be reduced to $39.99 and also there’s $3 applied at checkout… assuming that it applies to everyone, when I checked out it came down to $36.99.

Given the requirements of oculus link you need a good quality cable that you can trust or there’s no point.

I have the 3m version of their cable. Works well, no issues, no complaints.

    • For the Quest? Do you just play seated games?

      • I have the quest 2, I play seated and standing (more standing than seated as not many offer seated play). I use the cable for my laptop which I just put right behind me so I have no reach issues. 5m will be better of course.

        • I just ordered Quest 2 with 3m Cable ($24)…
Can I use USB extention Cable with it?

Does the above Cable include delivery ???

Save your money. Just using the original cable comes with Quest, or just buy the Virtual Desktop. Wirless connection make VR experience much better. You could put your PC somewhere, and play VR games in your big area living room.

    • You have some good points. I personally have both the cable and virtual desktop, I find wireless has some latency issues, and a lot of people dont have a usb C port in their PCs. I guess it depends what people have available to them.

the original cable comes with Quest

If you don't mind the compression and latency hit that comes with using USB 2.0 at about 500mbps vs this cable which can do 2gbps+.
I owned this cable before selling my quest, does exactly what it says and is a lot nicer than using the charging cable.

The stock cable with Quest 2 is 1.2metres long, not very viable.

  • I bought the 5m version a while back, no issues playing AAA games. I did recall paying in the low 30s for this though.

  • I've got a friend who owns a Quest and is always complaining about freedom of movement. He'll likely be interested in this. Thanks OP!.

  • Any difference or reason to pick this one over this: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B083355P7M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f…

While your link has more reviews (389 over 79), the reason I chose the one I did was that the review rating was about 3/4 of a star higher.
Assuming enough have reviewed it to be trustworthy I feel confident in it.

EDIT: additionally the “ribbing” on the connector ends in my posted item certainly look more durable and relieving of pressure.

  • I grabbed one of these on the weekend for $36.99, it seems to work fine with my Quest 2

Better than my $129 official cable which throws USB errors in Windows every time I disconnect a device from it. I'm returning the official cable, but I think they will only send a replacement. Not sure if I can push for a refund.

  • Non stop issues with this cable. Returned it to Amazon and got virtual desktop through side quest. Works better than cable and is totally wireless!

      What sort of issues?
At least Amazon’s return policy is dead easy….
Maybe it’s a quality control issue, lots of people seem satisfied.

      • Massive stutter and huge FPS drops constantly. Mind you this was with top of the range cpu and gpu. The fact that it works better over wifi than cable shows there are issues.

        • WiFi has latency though as well as compression from what I've read. I'm looking at buying a Q2 for sim racing and flight sims. Everyone says to play wired or you won't see the benefit of your top end card. I'm using a 3080/5800x so I want to see where my money went.

          • @[Deactivated]: Don’t know about everyone else’s experience but comparing my wired vs wireless experience, wireless won all the way. Was more reliable, not frame stutter, and a higher FPS and resolution. Added bonus of being wireless.

            • @juddy90: Are you playing AAA games where it would be noticeable? I've been watching a few people on YouTube who are sim racers and they all said that there is a big difference since some update (I think it was 23.xx) allowed faster data transfer across USB.

  • I have read that you need a C to C cable to be able to keep Quest 2 charged up when usibg it, as an A to C cable does not out enough power through and will result in battery drain over extended use

    • I’ve heard that at 5M charging is possibly off the cards anyway…
