I received my first ever order from Zavvi today, and my last! I can now appreciate the warning other members provided before my purchase.

Parcel arrived wrapped in a thin black film, not even a box!! I was honestly amazed but pre conditioned based on member reviews, 3 corners mushed, and one corner completely caved in. I've sent an email to their customer service, will be interested to know what options they will provide.

Thanks for the heads up. I was about to place my order but I will wait until I receive my last order

Mate, I couldn't disagree more. It's sent from the UK! If you want a well wrapped AND discounted set, source it locally.
I've had TONS of sets sent from them, usually hard to get ones in Aus, (most before the bubble burst ca 1- 1,5 years, ago that Zavvi was a goldmine for rare Aus sets) and never had a problem.
Scouring OzBargain for neg on Zavvi,I'm at a loss as you make it out that there are tons of neg.

        Yeah, I also concur.

Despite the negative press Zavvi/IWOOT receive on OzBargain, every order I've purchased from them (around a dozen by now) have all arrived safe and sound, quite often in better condition than some orders I've received from Target, Myer or David Jones that had notable box damage.

I'm not saying they have a perfect track record of shipping orders without any damage in transit but they're not as bad as people on here like to make them out to be and quite often Zavvi/IWOOT have the cheapest prices around for in-demand sets and continue to stock hard-to-find sets long after they've left the shelves of most bricks-and-mortar retailers.

        • I had a Zavvi order arrive two weeks ago, this exact set, and it arrived in perfect condition. My Porsche GT3RS from Target Australia? The corner was crushed and the very nice Porsche booklet inside was damaged.

        Easy on tiger!

I'm glad you've had great experiences with them, unfortunately not for me.
I realise they are sent from UK, with all information I've been provided with I took the risk and made a decision to buy from them. I'm not unrealistic to think it will not come across any knocks and bruises along the way due to the distance it needs to travel and I've only had one experience, for a 'hard to find' set, an actual box and not just the Lego box wrapped in commercial grade glad wrap is asking too much? apparently so! lol … I'm letting other like minded Lego collectors know about it! Whether they're collectors or builders.

I took the gamble on a 'hard to find' set and it didn't work out. I think it is important to allow other members know regardless of my not-so-great experience. I've not built any lego sets since I've started collecting them. My previous comments are all in line with my initial concerns, and unfortunately it didn't work out as well as I hoped for. I didn't realise my comment struck a nerve but its an honest and open recount of what happened, and in future the decision to always source locally due to my personal preferences of collecting.

        • Sounds like you got the raw end. The only Lego purchase I've made from Zavvi came in a larger box with plenty of cushioning. No issues.

I received my first order as well today, and to be honest I was quite disappointed. Not their fault, but it's mine because I expected way too highly of them.
My box came banged up similar to yours and one of the corner sunken pretty bad.

In my opinion, when a business received a lot of negative feedback from their customer, don't you think as a business owner you need to investigate and re-evaluate what went wrong? Cause it seems that this problem has persisted from a long time. I can see that on almost every deal the OP had posted, damaged box issue was always brought up.

I am just expressing my genuine concern here and hoping that in the future, Zavvi would be able to rectify this issue and shows genuine care for buyers who had trusted their money to them. Starting from providing better padded shipping box and crush damper cushioning inside the shipping box.

      • Actually I was the opposite, but that's just how I am. I'd read about some stories and never had high expectations. I wasn't expecting a perfect box but to have zero care in the way it was packed really set me off.

Contacting the 1st line of defence team was a very average experience, borderline insulting, however I persisted and am now satisfied with the outcome. I still would have preferred the Lego kit itself but we can't have our cake and eat it too.

I won't be buying from them again anytime soon, but just like any Ozbargainer, if a great deal pops up don't judge me :))

Thanks to JabbaThehutGroup and thanks to Zavvi customer relations for doing what was the right thing to do.

    • Apologies for the issues you've had with delivery, this shouldn't happen.

Please could you send your order number so we can look into this?

      Thanks,
      Zavvi

  • Just what I wanted a four-speed gearbox.

  • @JabbaTheHutGroup Any chance for the lego technic crane deal to come back?

I won't recommend buying from Zavvi, except for self build. I had bought 2 lego for christmas and all come with damage box. The customer service doesn't helpful, its just give you 5% refund or YOU PAY the postage back to Zavvi and they had to { check condition } before refund to you. Worst ever. the last one even got tape stick on box and with the box is OPEN AIR , i think they scare lego too hot on summer.

  • Shows $329.99 for me.

  • Apply that "LANDROVER" coupon it will show the discounted price
