  • There is no warranty since it’s from Amazon UK -just wondering how well does Amazon AU assist with problems/faults under ACL?

    • don't quote me, but i think everything sold in australia is meant to meet ACL standards…so the usual 1 year warranty?

      • +1

ACCC is a little vague on parallel imports:

While you have the same consumer rights when you buy parallel imports as you do with any other goods, it may be more difficult to obtain a remedy if something goes wrong with a parallel import.
If the seller is based overseas, there may be practical and legal difficulties in enforcing your consumer guarantee rights against an overseas business.

        From Amazon T&Cs:

When purchasing International Products, you acknowledge that the sale occurs outside of Australia and that you are importing the products for your personal use, which will be reflected on customs documentation.

Amazon.co.uk is listed as Amazon EU SARL (“Amazon UK”), a Luxembourg company , i.e: an overseas business.

So warranty is not as same as buying from Amazon AU or a local retailer.

    • If sold by amazon they will honor it

      • I sent Amazon a specific question regarding the 5 year warranty and whether the manufacturer would honour it in Australia. The initial response was that Amazon will assist for the first 2 years and after that I would need to deal directly with the manufacturer. When I sent a further email querying whether the manufacturer will honour the warranty in Australia, given it was acquired from Amazon UK, the response was: as the item is sold and shipped by Amazon UK, I would need to need to check with the manufacturer for more information regarding the warranty. "As the warranty completely depends on manufacturer."

        • It will be more than that under ACL since you purchased it from there Australia amazon store and not directly from the UK store so you have them protections. Inital purchase was made from a Australian store regardless of where they shipped it from. Atleast that's how it should be

          • @DoesntEvenMatter: Isn't ACL only covers for the first 12 months?

            • @vicez: If you look at their terms.

Manufacturer warranty may not apply but you may have other rights under law.

And i believe Karcher can refused honoring this since it is classified as parralel grey import.

Same situation as Weber in the past where Bunnings imported their own Weber for a short period of time

            • @vicez: Nope. Read up on it. You can be covered years beyond the manufacturer warranty period. Your warranty is with the seller even if they try to send you to the manufacturer it's the sellers responsibility. Generally going to the manufacturer can be quicker at times because you remove the middle man in the situation but sometimes but in this case amazon au is the seller and they need to comply to ACL which overrides any manufacturer warranty anyway

              • @DoesntEvenMatter: Do you go after eBay or the seller on their platform if a warranty issue?

                • @deelaroo: The seller…. Not sure where your goin with that question

                  • @DoesntEvenMatter: Amazon AU isn't the seller, so just because bought on Amazon.com.au doesn't mean they have to honour anything.

                    • @deelaroo: Amazon is the seller and you purchased from au registered company and they do need to honor it. Same way you'd buy shit from kogan

                      • @DoesntEvenMatter: Amazon UK is the seller. I've gone through all history I have of a purchase via Amazon.com.au of an item from Amazon UK, at every spot it states the seller is Amazon UK. Not that it has anything actually to do with the contract of sale but the bank statement states AMAZON MKTPLC AU not AMAZON AU, which I would assume is a merchant in this case same as Paypal would be.

If you can point out how the seller is an AU registered company or where you are getting this info I'm all ears, but I think your info is wrong in this case.

At the same time I believe Amazon AU would honor any warranty as best they can just due to their outgoing customer service.

                        • @deelaroo: The way I see it is it all falls under the amazon commercial umbrella as its sold on the website that's registered in Australia. You won't have manufacturer warranty but you still have sellers guarantee under ACL since the purchase was still made through the aussie website. It's why they state that they won't have manufacturers warranty which is true. The manufacturer can deny it when not purchased through a authorised seller. This is my understanding of it and again don't think it will be a issue with amazons cs

                          • @DoesntEvenMatter: Have you had experience doing this warranty or it is just based on your assumption?

Even if they have to comply with the warranty, they might still ask the buyer to send the item back to the UK at the buyer cost.

    • Yup however the Bunnings version has one more accessory compared to the UK one

      • +1

Full control pro version has 3-in-1 lance, that’s the reason why it doesn’t need extra lance.

        • This one comes with the decking scrubber but appears to be missing the concrete lance.

          The 3 in 1 doesn't do concrete.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Vario, dirt blaster and detergent settings all in one

Dirt blaster mode is for concrete.

            • @hchen01: You're right!! I wonder if they sell these separately so I can upgrade.

    • +1

No, the Bunnings one is Karcher K5 Premium Full Control.

The amazon one is Karcher K5 Premium Full Control Pro, it better than Karcher K5 Premium Full Control.

    • amazon deal is like this: https://www.kaercher.com/au/home-garden/pressure-washers/k-5…
with difference those small extra tools

  • $225 delivery from UK?

    • +4

Get Prime. Free trial, or $6.99 for a month.

  • Bigboi or this

    • didnt realise bigboi brought out a pressure washer! I've got their blowr mini and its great.
Would prob stick with the K5 as it can do other jobs around the house.

K5 has more water flow per min, but the Bigboi has a higher pressure.

  • +1

Very little difference between k4 and k5.

Next time I'll be going K7 and nothing less.
I have the K4 and it JUST does everything I need it to. Something more powerful would be better.

    • Yeah not sure I can explain the $1k spend on a pressure washer to the wife lol…..

      • It will just create more pressure washer her leave your life.

      • +1

Just tell her that if you don't buy it then she needs to wash the windows… And car… And driveway by hand

  • +7

does it remove blood off garage floor?
    asking for a friend

    • +1

You may need some bleach together to destroy DNA

  • Karcher products in Australia have an international warranty. I’d imagine the UK would be the same.

Bunnings will also price match with Amazon

    • Unfortunately this Amazon UK listing is not the same as what Bunnings offers. As someone mentioned earlier, the Amazon one is 'Karcher K5 Premium Full Control Pro', and the Bunnings one is 'Karcher K5 Premium Full Control'. Definitely worth a try though!

  • is this one decent to get for cleaning cars? or is there something locally that is better value for money? thanks

    • +1

The $80 version will clean your car. Goto bunnings

      • Good to know thanks. What are the more expensive ones used for then?

        • more power more features more attachments etc… which really isn't required just to hose down a car.

          • @gimme: Thx. Just watched some reviews cleaning pavements, and the cheap ones were cleaning just as well as the ones 2-3x the price

            • @cortex: They (mostly) do. It just comes down to buying stuff that's fit for your purpose. If you were washing your car 3 times a week and constantly doing pavers and somehow need more pressure, I'd say get the expensive one but for the occasional use I'd be happy with a cheaper version. If you want (need) a couple of extra attachments then wait until they go on sale at bunnings (guessing around xmas or when pricematching Aldi sale) and you can pick up a gerni/karcher for around $100.

              • @gimme: Ya got my eye on a ryobi one, $139 from bunnings. Been on sale for $99ish on ozbargain, so gonna wait for a sale. thx for help

  • +1

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-2100w-2750psi-pressure-was…

This is more powerful almost as much as a petrol one with 4 yr warranty and electric so maintenance free. I have it.
