I am going to get the call of duty Cold War as there is around a $20 price gap and was wondering if I get the PS4 version and play on PS5 then will it work with the ps5s new controller vibrations and haptics and play at 4K on high frame rates?

What’s the point in getting a new gen console if you are going to play old gen versions of the games?
My thoughts exactly. Although it's a bit scummy of some publishers to charge for the update when others aren't. And PC always gets the update for a lower price, so they can't blame extra development costs. Console users are just more likely to accept it as they don't really have the choice
Mate, this is a newly released COD. I got the PS5 to upgrade my old PS4 original.
I am fine with getting the PS5 disk but if the PS4 disk is the same then I will get that to save money, that’s why I am on this site of course.Correct site to get your answers: https://support.activision.com/au/en/black-ops-cold-war/arti…
@Hybroid: Thank you, I will just get the PS5 version then. Definitely worth it for the features and higher frame rates etc. Really appreciate that mate.
Save up for some full stops first.
PS4 games can't take advantage of any of the new hardware features, that means no ray tracing, haptic feedback, adaptive triggers or use of the I/O complex (the hardware that allows for near-instant loading). Those features require games to be compiled against the PS5 SDK, at which point they no longer run on the PS4. The only thing a game compiled against the PS4 SDK can take advantage of is the extra speed of the CPU/GPU and any load speed increase that comes from the fact that it has an SSD. It is a PS4 game, as it says on the case.
I doubt you'll get the PS5 enhancements without paying for the PS5 verison, or upgrading from the PS4 to PS5 version.
