[Switch] ABZÛ - $3 (Was $30, 90% off) @ Nintendo eShop

1270

All time lowest price for this game. Made by the creators of Journey and Flower.

Switch version has an 80, 7.8 on Metacritic.

I've personally been looking forward to this for a while and didn't expect such a large drop in price

Is this an actual game? Lol all the screenshots just look like wallpaper

Despite the art style, there is unfortunately a camp of people who dislike this genre of game and will disregard it as being such simply because there's no combat.

So yes, this is a game, but there will also be disgruntled people telling you it isn't 🤷‍♂️

      It's underwater Journey
Not my cup of tea and no real gameplay or replayability but it is visually beautiful

Not just an actual game, but a beautiful, moving, actual game. An absolute bargain at $3.

Wow what a great price. It has no combat, but it does have some general objectives, which are best deviated from to explore the beautiful world.

      Piggyback just to warn everyone:

If you've claimed any of the epic freebie deals, you might already have this on PC.

  • looks like fun!! thanks!

    Wow what an amazing price

  • Coincidently, Apple Arcade just released a game by the same guys just a minute ago.

Fun game. I bought it a year or so ago and its worth the money.

A bit like the 'journey' in a way as you follow your way through the levels to figure things out.

Thanks, OP. I have this game on PC but I'll be getting this deal for my Switch too - very good deal.

As OP said above, this game can be a bit divisive. For me, this game is one of those games that I revisit from time to time just to take in the beautifully crafted environment, the vibrant colours and the soothing sounds. I had originally bought this game purely because it was made by the same studio that made Journey and Flower so I sort of knew what to expect.

There is no combat but the focus is on exploring the game world and there are many stand out interactions with the environment and animals within.

If you go in expecting it to be an action game, you'd most likely be disappointed. As a chill and atmospheric game, I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.

"same studio that made Journey and Flower" I thought that as well, but different studio and publisher, but some key personnel in common.

Oh, my bad, thanks for the correction.

It has the same vibes and it's interesting to see aspects of game play from those earlier games making their way into the newer ones.

How you do pronounce this game so i can tell my friends?

    • +10

      Abzû

      • in English?

        • +11

          Yeah

    • +3

      "ah-noose"

      • It seems to be pronounced as ab zo. Two syllable words

      • front Abzû

    • Just "ab-zu" (or "ab-zoo") is close enough, going by the various interviews with Matt Nava (the game's creative director) out there:

      Gamereactor interview
      Indie Obscura interview

    this is glorious! thank you
the perfect, immersive game with beautiful visuals and music.

I"m really looking forward to playing it

such immersive games that take you away are really needed in 2020.

  • Cheap on psn as well, though not nearly as cheap as this.

Bought it earlier this morn, thanks op

  • Thanks OP - another game to the "maybe when I have free time" pile

  • Didn't like it on pc but determined to give it another go now that I have an idea of what kind of gameplay to expect. Great price. Bought.

  • Can you gift eshop purchases?

    • Unfortunately not

  • thanks, I don't buy many games but $3 for some relaxation and peace is well worth it!

  • Why couldn’t we get that price on PSN??
Currently playing their new game The Pathless :)

  • I always regretted not playing Endless Ocean on Wii, maybe this will make up for it.

  • bought it, thanks OP
I normally purchase EBGames gift card at 8% discount then buy the eshop card, effectively have 8% discount for these games

    • How do you get the 8% off EB cards?

    Tried it, don't like it.

    • Thanks for telling all of us
