Any potential issues buying ps5 from the states besides warranty?

Out of stock - Currently Yes but it is a much bigger market with a lot of large big box electronics and gaming retailers so finding one could still be a possibility if you know where to look and willing to pay RRP.
Running at 110v - Extremely unlikely. The PS5 will be dual voltage and Hz like it's predecessors.
I'd like to see another detailed teardown, with the PS5 PSU showing the voltage specs.

Isn't PS5 region free anyway? Why not just pay scalper prices in Australia, get it quicker.

The only problem with getting it in a month or so, is that you can't post a picture with mouth agape with the box when it arrives, and post it on Instagram.
You get the most value out of these things when the hype is high. Maybe you can save $50 buying one next year, but you'll miss all the giddy hype. Assuming you have a wave 1 preorder in the first place.
Just wait and save yourself the stress and hassle.
If you get it a bit late I promise you will still enjoy it as much as if you played it now.
I waited over a year to play RDR2 on PC and it was still fun all that time later.

I've got a launch day unit and it plays Astro, Fortnite, and Crypt of the Necrodancer fine.
Like all console launches, the people that have issues are more vocal. I got my PS5 on launch day and have had no issues. It's just obvious that people having issues will go on the net and talk about their issues.
