    100 kg Weight Load

With the recent McD, Dominos, KFC deals, some OzBargainers may have to get 2 ;)

    • bolt a metal plate to make it a 4 wheels scooter.

    • I'm a fatty and use my Pro to commute to work everyday. After 3 months it hasn't broken on me yet :)

"Calls for e-scooter laws to change as people flout the rules and police turn a blind eye"

      https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-12-14/calls-for-escooter-la…

"Pressure is mounting on state governments around the country to change laws regulating e-scooters as more commuters use them to beat congestion. The RACV is calling for a national change to how e-scooters are regulated to allow them to travel up to 25kph on roads and shared pathways, and 10kph on footpaths."

        The RACV

I see, the escooter lobby group /s

allow them to travel up to 25kph on roads and shared pathways

and be passed by an old guy on a push bike ? I am 53, and go faster then that on my pushbike.

My Scoot does > 60 km/hr (Kaabo Mantis pro) and I use it at about 40 -45kmh on local roads and shared paths when I deem it safe (riding them is legal here in QLD but not at that speed of course ) Speaking with many months of experience on my scoot (and not used the car for 2 months) I'd suggest a 40-45km.hr upper limit is a far better solution on roads.shared paths, close lots of roads and make them shared for ebikes/bikes/scoots, this will also help reduce Australia's massive CO2 transport emissions and pollution issue..

My parter takes my scoot now (she commutes to work on hers), her Xaomi is speed limited and she says its too slow both in speed and acceleration. She's now ordered a Mantis as well :)

Heads up - my mate scoots to work from West End to the airport. Not long ago he got pulled up by a cop with a speed gun on the city side of the Kurilpa bridge specifically out hunting scooters. Miraculously he was only going 25 at the time but be aware they are on the lookout for us.

That's fast even for a pushbike. If you come off at that speed, you'll be sorry. Scooters have little wheels, and when little wheels meet little rocks, bad things happen.

Secondly, you're scooting at 45 on a shared path where people walk? Think of the pedestrian seeing a scooter come towards them at that speed. Not only is an overweight 53 yo adult flying towards them, he's on a 30 kg metallic object! :)

…her Xaomi is speed limited and she says its too slow both in speed and acceleration.

Too slow for what? What exactly is the objective? The nature of shared paths means it's almost impossible to sustain 40 km/h for long periods, so the benefit of a faster scooter when considering all the slow-downs and bottlenecks on these paths, doesn't justify the need for speed. That's my opinion anyway!

  • Looks like a decent price. My colleague has this model and loves it. I have the M365 Pro and it seems just as good, a fraction slower top speed, but both great

    Worst. Punchline. Ever. :(

    Camelcamelcamel is pretty effective, too.

17.5 kg, yikes! Dashing up steps at train station with this under arm is out of question.

I like that is has a mechanical and electronic brake. I'm sure it's a smooth ride too.

It's big, so blending in on footpath won't work. It looks more suitable for bike paths and wider paths in general, but is too bulky to weave around people on regular footpaths.

Everyone has opinion, mine is that smaller scooters under 12 kg are fine on footpaths with light foot traffic. They're basically an extension of the pedestrian - wheels instead of feet. Think skateboard, rollerskates. Rarely a hazard. But these big scooters are more "transport machine", heavy objects, big wheels, and don't mix well with pedestrians.

17.5kg isnt much weight to carry up and down some steps… I can get around people on a footpath on a Neuron and that's bigger than this.. but hey you just want a reason to complain…

    • Electronic brakes are terrrrrrrible.

  • 40 km range, so according to JB HIFI the range has dropped from the previous gen ?
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/segway-ninebot-kickscoote…

    • The battery is quite a bit smaller, and thus units mass reduced a few KG too, so range down.

  • Is it legal in Vic?

    • Yep.

      • Is it actually? Where did you find this information and since when?

        • Seconded, where are you getting this information @gottacatchemall? I know people in VIC use it but I don't think we're legally allowed to

My friend told me similar thing few weeks ago but when I asked them to show proof they can't seem to find it anymore.

    • Definitely not were limited to no more than 10km an hour no more than 200 watts elect motor in Victoria.

Hopefully they change the laws, not even my 13-year-old can ride on one with those specs he's 63 kilos and the thing would barely move absolutely pointless. He can ride on his bike a lot faster than that legally.

  • This looks good however, I am not sure if I should upgrade from my Mearth Model S, the Ninebot has a better range but is heavier and slower (32km/h vs 28km/h) and as I live in an apartment, I like that with my Mearth, I can keep the scooter in the storage and just bring the battery up and charge this as it is stored in the handlebars.

    decisions, decisions.
