Buy a galaxy s2 for $500 + 32gb card for $30 and spend $470 on a 40 inch screen ;)
Good idea. I often wondered how Apple can justify the huge mark-up on their iPhones for such a long period since introduction, given that one can get a superb Android phone for just over half the price.

There's a couple of reasons why iPhones cost more on a spec per spec bases compared to other phones.
One of them is that Apple have to pay to develop their iOS, run their iCloud servers and their Siri servers, while Android manufacturers get this all for free from Google, who fund this from the market research they collect from the android devices. And you also have to remember apple support their devices for a longer period of time than most android manufacturers, which also costs money, but also means the iPhone you buy now will have a better resale value down the track, compared to an android device.

Keep in mind, it's more than just a phone. It's an MP3 player. It plays films. It does games. It is a GPS navigation system. It does Internet. It does email. It takes crystal clear photos. It records in HD.
Sure, it seems really expensive, but when you think of everything it eliminates, it's an ideal phone for those who are always on the move.
