99 Bikes up to 50% off Click Frenzy

100

Received via email.
Ive bought a few things from them, always friendly and good prices.
I have no negative things to say about them.

What I like, is that they are a bike store you can physically goto, and if I have to pay a little bit more, I prefer that than a fully online store. But, this is Ozbargain, and you all want the cheapest. Maybe this deal helps.

Example:

Crank Brothers Sterling Pump Long Silver
$69.99 $35.00

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2020

    Laughable sale. One item at 50%, two at 45% and two at 40% off and the rest fairly meh discounts.

    Aren't everything in their store always up to 50% off anyways….I usually find bikebug to be a tad cheaper and price beat

  • bought 10 x Crank Brothers Sterling Pump Long Silver

    — too much hot air on this deal!

  • For those Ozbargainers with a bit more knowledge, how much should I reasonably pay for new, basic road bike ( with drop bars)

      Depends on
      * bike frame material - carbon/alloy/titanium etc..
      * groupset (10sp, 11sp, 12sp)
      * weight (how much weight are you willing to tolerate)
      * brand

      eg top line wheels alone could set you back 3-4k.

      But having said all that, it is possible to get a very nice one for around 1.5 - 2k.

      eg this is pretty good

      I think it would be easier to set a budget and then look for a bike.
      There is a used bike group on FB which is pretty good.

        Haha im certainly not even thinking about entering 4 digit territory. I guess used could be the way to go once I learn more about things to look out for and how to identify a well maintained bike.

          If you're in Victoria, you can check out Decathlon store. There are few bikes at around $500 range and they're reasonable for beginners.

      As a bike user, and as an ozbargainer, I always look for those who sell their almost brand new bikes for almost half the price :) Check Marketplace and gumtree. Look for lightweight frame and if you are handy you can replace the rest of the components very easily.
      If you are getting into biking as a hobby, I suggest buying a second-hand bike before spending your money on a brand new one.

      • That would be the pinnacle end of the deals as in "I can come right now, with cash" (even if its a 2hr drive). But it is part of the fun of the ozb cyclist.

    Apparently Giant make the best bikes going around and most manufacturers are using Giant to make their bikes? So I heard..

    So it's best to go to the source and buy Giant

  • This is like click bait. Barely anything on sale.
