Need an extra stick of Ram for a HP Probook
has 4Gb stick already and a slot for another - only used for Office and Net so 8gb will be fine
Also upgrading to SSD but I have that already from previous deal
Any suggestions on where to buy?
Thanks

Not the moooost helpful comment ever - but thanks
Do you want an ebay link to the specific ram stick you should buy?
Go to ebay
Search ram details eg 4gb ddr4 2400 sodimm
Sort by lowest price plus postage
Filter by location : australia
Check seller ratings
Purchase the one that seems best to you
Run the Crucial System Scanner and search the RAM part number on eBay/Amazon
Thanks mate - I hear Crucial is good quality but I haven't purchased before
RAM is just RAM, there are only a few semiconductor companies in the world that are able to produce DRAM memory (SK Hynix, Samsung, Micron are the big names). Crucial explains it on their website
Yes there are around 100 different brands but all they do is buy the RAM chips from one of the three big names and repackage it onto a piece of silicon and ship it with custom branding, stickers, or RGB lights, in the end it makes no difference whether it's a Corsair Gaming-grade memory or some cheap Kingston ValueRAM.
RAM for office/browsing laptops — is acceptable to buy as cheap as possible.
What does matter though is the speeds (transfer rate), at best you should use something like HWinfo32 / Crucial memory scanner to auto-detect what RAM is currently being used and buy memory that matches that speed. If it doesn't match your system will just reduce the overall speed of the RAM modules to match the slowest one installed.
Good advice - thanks Scrimshaw - current Ram is 2400 speed fwiw
Cheers
