Hayman Reese Silent Hitch Pin (55038) $28 - $30.10 (Location Dependent) at Repco (Free C&C and $9.90 Metro Delivery)

130

I have a hidden tow hitch that has a slight wobble in it when the receiver is installed. This hitch pin is designed to pull the hitch to one side, tightening both horizontal and vertical movement. They also have a locking mechanism on them so your hitch can't be stolen (if yours is removeable like mine).

Repco currently have a 30% off sale making this $28 (previously $40). Hopefully this isn't store-specific; I've checked a number around my area and the price is consistent.

EDIT - Pricing appears to be region-specific. I've updated the title to reflect this.

  • Nice one! Picked this same hitch up from here for $32 in the last sale.

  • Nice deal.
Can you please update with "Hayman Reese Silent Hitch Pin" so that it can be more searchable.

    • Thanks! I didn't even notice the typo as I'm busy looking for a box gutter and got the two confused.

  • coming up as $30.10 for me

    • That's bizarre. The Victorian stores are all showing it as $28 I believe. I was in Mornington yesterday and it was previously $40 and has now dropped to $28 with the 30% off sale.

Perhaps it's state specific? If it is I'll update the deal.

    Thanks!

Bought one.. finally fixes the annoying clinking sound.

  • yep $30 for me as well.

This is a great item, thanks!

My tow bar comes stays in the boot when not towing. No fancy pins, no rattle noise and no busted up shins.

    • I got mine fabricated in the same way. I have a vertical bike rack however that is rock solid in the hitch, but the hitch itself connects to the "drawbar" that is bolted onto the vehicle (for the lack of a better term), causing it to move slightly.

If I was towing a trailer it wouldn't phase me, it's more the vertical bike rack movement that I wanted to address.

Mine is the first point of contact for a rear end collision. Stops some of those carpark 'creep up 'till I stop' nudges.

  • Don't forget 20% Repco discount with any Australia state automotive membership (RACV, RACQ etc.)

    • does it stack?

      • No

  • Sigh… got so excited. but it can't fit inside my solid tow ball tongue…

    • Had the same problem, my excitement went 180 real quick

  • A little cloth tape wrapped around the hitch before it goes into receiver and you'll never hear it again.
You don't need a special hitch pin.
