I don't know much about microphones, but I think this is a pretty good deal for amateur setups.

I found this guy's video testing it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlzwyiPs260&ab_channel=M4LxH…
Thankyou
I thought that this was just the Pop Filter and Stand at 1st glance and seemed good value….Says $39.99 + Shipping
Try opening the link in Incognito (Ctrl+Shift+N), and you should see $29.99 + Free Shipping with FIRST.
It looks like a rebadge of something that's sold for around $30~39 on feebay
Kogan's item

and a bunch of BM-800 condenser mics that look very similar
Item 1 Mic Only
item 2 Mic with stand, pop filter and clamp stand
It's probably called the "Neewer Pro BM-800". You can search it on Youtube and there are bunch of reviews on it with sound tests that you can listen to.
Can anyone recommend a microphone arm that's long enough to reach over the top of a monitor? I find these pack in arms are only suitable for placing the mic on the side of the desk.
Bought this at $15 a couple months ago.
The stand is absolutely terrible, but the microphone is decent. It's quite nice how they include all the other bits and bobs - however, they all are quite subpar too.
If you have any questions, I'd be happy to try and answer them.
Just out of curiosity, how'd you get it at $15?
There was a special Kogan First deal for it ($15 + free shipping).
Not a bad when you look at the price. I have mine and use it for online gaming. I guess this is worth 30$.
Does this require phantom power? or can you just plug into pc and off you go?
I have a BM800 and I'm not using phantom power with it. I've heard phantom power greatly improves the sound but it's not necessary. I'm using it with a USB adaptor which helps it a little bit but it works fine plugging it straight in.
edit: there are several reviews on youtube if you want to hear exactly what it sounds like with and without phantom power
This is the original BM-800 rest all followed the suit.
This deal is a little better

Another with table top

There are quite a few comparison videos and amazingly this is one decent microphone.
Thats my first input on the forum, hope it helps
Cheers
Thanks. Bought one to test it out with the odd Zoom / Teams / Skype call everyone seems to do vs a headset.
Bought one and tested on my windows 10 pc, using the USB sound card provided and also directly to the computers mic input port.Microphone level is too low, do I need a Preamp to increase the sound ?, Any suggestions for a cheap Preamp and if there any other solution to increase the sound level. I have used Audacity to try and record voice. Thanks for all suggestions and helps in advance.
The microphone settings in Windows can be used to apply a audio gain setting which automatically boosts the volume of your mic

Mic volume should be set as high as possible without picking up unwanted background noises or mic hiss
Curious if anyone has this, can they comment on it.
