USB??
but it has a UBB-C port right?
The usb port is for power.
It's easy enough to stream netflix and the like if you have good enough internet.
You can set something up like plex on a computer or server to stream to a tv. I've got plex set up on my pc and it streams to my friends' devices without too many issues.
No prefer USB for faster playback booooooooooo
@[Deactivated]: There are android boxes which can.
VodafoneTV was very popular but is now discontinued. RRP is around $70 but you can buy from gumtree/FB marketplace.
Alternatively, the mibox is an option.
@[Deactivated]: You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of how a Chromecast actually works.
@Switchblade88: Well if google want to limit their user base thats their choice
AppleTV has no such limitation?
@[Deactivated]: I stand corrected. You can add a usb hub per trustnoone's suggestion to the chromecast with googletv. Not sure about chromecast 3.

This is the best value deal for CCwGTV but you may have to wait for delivery.

I don't know how close it is from the Google Tv, but might be worth a look at:
At 5 min 30, they plug in USB storage, but use an adapter for power and USB. I don't remember if they talk about HEVC X265 10bit though.
thanks, so you need a USB-C hub
So how many Chromecast versions are there?
Officeworks has one for $50+
Chromecast with Google TV is the latest?
Yes google TV version is the latest. Retails for around $100 and comes with a remote.
This is a pretty good deal.

The $55 one is FHD streaming only. google tv is 4k (makes the cc ultra obselete)
Thanks All
If you need a USB-C hub $50 then adding the $150 for this Chromecast makes sense
BUT if you are on Windows and dont need this hub, stumping up an extra $100 for the Nvidia Shield is better option for the Gaming Multimedia TV center
Are there better options for 10bit HVEC X265 VIDEO playback?? Think someone said the Mi Box $50-$75
What's the source? Internet, plex, over your network?
How long is a piece of string?
