Was looking for the game in order to play the DLC and stumbled across this bargain on the WOW website. Fantastic game for a great price, never got the attention it fully deserved. First posting so go easy on me. Enjoy.

Never managed to finish this game as it scared the crap out of me.

Is it F.E.A.R. type of scary (a.k.a. not scary at all since there is no risk involved and the ghosts are just wallpaper rather then an actual threat) or Silent Hill 2 scary (where you can really get stuffed up and everything else out to get you)?
Stuff like Dead Space would fall under F.E.A.R. option since you basically respawn 5 seconds earlier if you die.
Nah, it's not FEAR scary. I haven't played Silent Hill, but from your description, it's probably like that. Shadows don't just pop up to 'shock' you; for instance (without spoiling anything), there's this one part where an axe murderer chases you around in the dark and there is barely any light. Very suspenseful.
The story is also quite creepy.

This game is the reason why I gave in and bought a 360 when the game came out last year. Of the 15-20ish games I now own, this is still my favourite.
If you liked resident evil series you'll like this. Great game an price, agree with others - very underattted.

anyway, notice just now it is xbox eclusive. i want a copy too. (as a ps3 player, the only reason i still keep the old white xbox360 is, not forza motor, but gear of war 3)
The 8.7 doesn't take into account how many people played it or how many people's scores went towards that 8.7 rating, and given that it came out the same time as RDR, many people just dismissed it. Maybe 'under-appreciated' is more appropriate.

Got this as a gift a while ago, was a great game. I don't play my Xbox often, but I finished this one :)
It might be worth checking your local store for these as well. I went in yesterday and a few of those $9.95 titles were available in the store.
Alan Wake 2 is actually coming out in the future.
