It can stack with Amex offer from the previous post comments

  • Why soldered ram. No need:(

Yes, but there're some upgrade options.

Yeah buying a laptop with 8gb ram today seems a bit dumb.

Just depends on the price point and usage scenario. Though I would hope that a premium product such as the X1 carbon would have 16gb, given the price.

      • I bought the Ryzen 5 Slim 7 for about $1200 through the education store. I use it for work only and have had no issues with the 8Gb of RAM (but of course 16 is preferable).

      • Can you give some idea of display port ? tried to lookup some videos but nothing beneficial.

The Gen8 deal was a better deal. Still gutted i missed that one

I think the base model a better deal for you, buy it without education store, get 15% cashrewards to bring it down to $1444.15, it's even better if you have the Amex offer,. Compared to your link, it has mostly the same specs (except for cpu, it has i5-8265u, which is slightly slower than the i5-10210u )

      • Thanks Bob - may have to consider this one today. Definately open minded on this and it sounds like you've done the research, yup got the AMEX too. Cheers!

      • Also - looks like Cashrewards is 5.20% Unless i'm missing something

Shopback/Cashrewards is not stackable at edu store.
Amex is stackable at edu store.l, if payment is deducted before deadline of offer.

With those bazels, 8gb ram, i7, it lags so much behind s540 AMD Ryzen 7 deal … wondering why its priced higher ? Brandline … Thinkpad ?

I just the carbon chassis, 3 year warranty and it's marketed as a premium product. Considering that this a generation behind with Wifi 5 only.
