Artificial Grass Installation - Crusted Rock 20mm or 10mm and Dust ?

Hi All,

I am installing the artifical turf and have been really confused with the suggestions being provided for the base… Is it better to have crusted rock 20mm and the dust on top or just 10mm crusted rock which includes dust ?

    Compact the sub base first then 20mm of Compacted crusher dust

    I'm a bit confused with your question.
    Crusher dust(or blue metal, there's possibly about 40 names about the same thing), is a no cement, free draining self levelling manufactured aggregate that loves compatction.
    However, it all goes back to existing ground.
    Stock standard advice is 80mm road base 50mm crusher dust.
    This assumes you're boxing out (that is removing) the existing ground.
    Also, geofab at the bottom, before placing the crusher dust, doesn't hurt with its dual action of fine migration prevention as well as weed control.
    I myself I went for geofab with 80mm crusher dust, flooded and compacted on a clayey dirt after I stripped the old topsoil turf.
    Even more confused now?
