Please Suggest Components for Games PC for MS Flight Sim (Budget $750)

Hi

I've built many PCs over the years, but am a bit out of touch with PC components lately.

Looking for a config for a games/business PC with a budget of around $750. Have monitor, mouse, keyboard, and 3TB HDD, DVD drive and Win10 64 bit already.

Would like to run MS Flight Simulator 2020, standard business packages, and sometimes use Handbreak or other programs to rip/convert DVDs.

The spec MS recommend is:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
    OS: Windows 10
    Processor: Intel i5-8400 | AMD Ryzen 5 1500X
    Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 970 | AMD Radeon RX 590
    DirectX: Version 11
    Storage: 150 GB available space

Would like to run O/S, programs from a 1Tb M.2 SSD, if it fits in the budget, with preference for AMD processor.

Would really appreciate anyone helping me get the best bangs for my bucks.

Thanks very much.

  • PS sorry, forgot to say that I would prefer to support our local shops and not buy anything from Amazon.

    MSY COMPUTERS

  • Would those be recommended specs for 1080p on medium settings?

    • 35FPS on FHD Ultra with an i9

Though reviewer says 30+ FPS is fine for a flight sim

Poor optimisation and lack of DirectX12 API leads to diminishing returns on that game. Notice how the bars sort of flatten near the top of the chart.

So even if you were to double your GPU budget from $300 to $600 and bought a RTX 2070 / 5700XT, you'd still only gain 10FPS on average.

        • Yeah no worries, just thought it's worth pointing out to anyone judging the budget or build etc, when the raw numbers are there :)

Be cheaper to get real flight lessons…..

    • If you have life insurance, maybe it could work out cheaper for your family budget.

  • I play on my 3500X and 8GB 570, runs okay. Wish I could run it at higher resolution tho.

Also if you can't afford a flight stick, I'd budget in an xbox one controller at least.

    • ^this. KB+Mouse sucks for this game.

Hey I don't mean to be a downer but even on my 3950x/rtx 3080 system I've had to reduce some quality sliders!

    It's pretty ridiculous.

I'd consider getting a xbox series x when they release flight sim for it. That might be better bang for the buck (unless you really need a pc for other purposes).
