      I can't say for sure whether it's accurate, but it did detect a difference between my plants before and after they were watered. So I figure at worst, it gives you a rough idea of whether soil is wet or bone dry!

      bunnings have kits where you get a scoop of soil and put on a chemical and mix to change hte colour. use that
