I bought annual PS plus sub last year for a total of mere $45 aud from PlayStation store itself. It’ll be expiring in early November. Is it usual trend where Sony could offer same discount in November or should I bite the bullet and buy it now to play God of War on PS5 as I’ve not played it yet?

I'll be playing it on PS5 Digital Edition. I'm already kinda regretting getting Digital Edition. Feels like I'm missing out on something.
None of us would know that. Since there's another 11 days till PS5 launch, wait it out in case they or someone elses comes up with an offer. If not, just buy it there and then as you would normally. Not rocket science.
Black Friday have offered discounts on the song store every year.
I have never paid full price and my renewals is always around Black Friday.

Yep, I should be able to claim them. I have Red dead redemption 2 which I was thinking to play on PS5. I’ll do that while I’m waiting for the discount.
God of War comes with the PlayStation Plus Collection so there's no rush to get it.
Wait until Black Friday and Sony (or someone) should have a 25% off deal.
That’s what I was thinking as well. Should I wait for Black Friday/cyber Monday or not. I’ll be waiting though as I have the time.
If you can survive without PS+ for two weeks (assuming you have a launch PS5 pre-ordered) then wait. If you can’t, buy one month at full price then buy 12 months at a discounted rate and stack.
You could buy the physical edition of God of War later. It's already very cheap preowned.
