So I just invested in a lens worth $2150 shipped at Shopping Square.
I'm aware of the possible charges at customs, but just to clarify a few things:
1) What is the usual delivery time (in particular lenses/cameras) for SS?
It says handling time 5-7 days on the item, but no way to find out the item stock level and I haven't had luck getting through the SS automated voice answer all day. I'm hoping to get my lens by next Friday as I'll be going for a holiday but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen with all the negative feedback from WP.
2) Do SS declare the item price on the package?
3) Anyone ever charged with import duty when shopping with SS?
4) IF I do get charged with import duty when it comes into Australia, can I claim it back via the TRS? I'm leaving the country for a holiday in early December.
I had a look at the tax invoice which has the business' ABN etc but tax amount says 0. So I'm assuming that I can't claim TRS?
Maybe I should have paid extra and get it from DD or DWI? DWI has been jacking up their prices since their new "promotion" - their prices for this particular lens are more expensive than SS, and their ebay price for the same lens went up by $120 overnight, website had a $60 increase, and their facebook page has a "handling fee".
Or perhaps I should have just gone and buy the lens from Malaysia/Singapore and save myself an extra $100 or so but add the extra hassle travelling with the box.
