    Missed the boat…

    • If family or friends are all doing a lot of DIY work, sanding, painting, etc, they could chip in together for a box of these and for the cost they'd be able to change the mask every couple of hours. Works out at 16c a mask + delivery. 5 ply dust masks are like a dollar each at Bunnings- https://www.bunnings.com.au/kn95-disposable-respirator-5pk-s…

    • nahhhh invest now in the second wave ….

Still trying to recover your costs from trying to exploit the pandemic, huh?

    • +9

This is what you call karma for trying to exploit the desperate and vulnerable .

      • +3

No dude, it's called capitalism and the free market.

Oh yeah, same, just dressed up differently.

    • +1

Exactly on my mind. It's either too greedy by holding on to the stock for too long or silly enough not to realise there's too much stock on the office floor.

    • +1

Man, ozbargainers always get on their high-horse with this stuff. Everyone on here is trying to either save a buck, and I'm surely equally like to make a buck. To say they are trying to 'exploit' the situation is harsh. They saw an opportunity (like a 15% gift card) and took it. Anyone on here had the same opportunity. If you are taking a moral 'high ground', buy a box and donate it to a health service, underprivileged organisation etc. Thankfully in SA I never had to buy a single one (yet). So would have been a total business failure here. My real concern is the environmental impact of all these things.

      • +1

        You tell em!

The temerity of these people getting on their high horse about pandemic profiteering without even mentioning the melting ice caps. Or the children…

        • +4

If they took stock away from those in need I would take issue. But life is demand / supply related. Look at the companies that make fire retardant, they made a heap from the bushfires. Many stock brokers silently made a killing (with their never waste a crisis mentality). But since they are wearing suits, it's apparently different. It's just the way it is. But my environmental comment is saying this side never gets considered. For example, 5c from every mask sale should go to cleaning up all the masks that have been turfed/ thrown into the water ways.

          *Disclaimer- grumpy old man today

If you had stock of masks in early March there were plenty of places paying top dollar, especially for N95 masks.

GP clinics simply couldn't source the masks from suppliers.

No one else can make money except for ozbargainer.. find any JB phone deals and you'll get 200 comments on how to abuse the cancellation loop hole.

But when it's other businesses trying to make money, Omg!

      • Username checks out

      • yeah ….they will end in the ocean and being eaten by turtles and whales…..these things probably take longer to break down than shopping bags.

    • +1

They didn't exploit or price gouge anyone.

Like 100s of business' they made bulk speculative orders from China early pandemic. The time they were delivered, many months later, the demand has dried up.

    • Free delivery previously. Now you need to buy 4 cartons to get free delivery.

  • Make it $200 and I might bite

    • $150 I'll consider to bite as well

      • +2

Match the 8c a mask I paid to load up friends and family, and… actually, I still won't bite.

Donate them to those in need and don't ever try to profiteer off human misery again…

High-key glad you got stuck with them :)

    Went from $900 a carton to 400 :P

  • Can't sell it to health care facilities ? Or just donate it.

    • +1

Government has plenty of reserves for health care, was done to prevent these profiteers ripping them off

  • Good luck with that OP. Like selling an Xbox console to a PC gamer.

It's illegal to advertise goods as being "TGA approved". I'd take this down if I were you.

    https://www.tga.gov.au/book-page/advertising-and-endorsement…

  • +1

FDA doesn't certify masks - it has been covered here many times! If you are claiming this, than it is a false claim (like your TGA claim)!

  • OP should change promo code to MEDICALEMERGENCY……………we've gotta sell this lot quick or else.

  • of course the average person is going to buy 2500 masks for himself and his family :)

    • 2500, handy for religious schools in melbourne that seem get positive students attending ….

  • Can I just buy a few boxes ?

    • He don't have a square to spare. He can't spare a square…

  • europe need them

  • $100 with free shipping and you got a deal, lol.

  • You can't call these masks ASTM level 2 when the PFE didn't reach 98% and fluid resistance didn't reach 120mmHG, completely false advertising. See https://medicom.com/product-category/masks/ for the ASTM requirements. When a mask has a BFE of 98%, it doesn't automatically mean it has a PFE of 98%. You can have a mask with 99% BFE but with only 60% PFE.
