Just bought 6 of the Dell 27" monitors from today's deal (Broden!)
Monitor has HDMI connector
Setting up for staff as dual monitor but the supplied corporate PC only has 1 x HDMI and 2 x Display Port
Can anyone recommend a reasonable quality, inexpensive cable - well 3 - to run the 2nd monitor from DP
Thanks

+1 vote for avoiding the cheap adapters. Dont bother. Ive ordered from mwave for the 4 of these I got. I havent received yet so cant comment further.
I bought a Snowkids HDMI>DP from Amazon to do the same thing. Occasionally the cable doesn’t work, causing the main screen to flicker on and off and requiring the cable to be unplugged and plugged in again, sometimes multiple times, before working correctly. Would not recommend.

I'm currently using 2 different ones for my work computer. Number 1 a generic one I've had it for years and pulled it out of the cable draw, works well and Number 2 Bought the cheapest one on amazon with 2 day shipping because I needed it ASAP, works just as well as the other. I haven't had any problems so far but they are slightly different colours, but idk which is more accurate from the box but I just changed the settings on one monitor to make them similar enough for my use.
Perfect
If the display's are higher than HD (1080P) resolution, I have found many cables fail.. including dongles. I used the Dell cables I got with one of my monitors (even just mini display to regular display 1.4 cables) and bought higher quality (not necessarily expensive) dongles for DP to HDMI.
Shielding is important
Good point on res - these Dells are just 1080P so shouldn't be demanding
Shielding = check
So hard to tell though as some inexpensive (not cheap and nasty) cables can be quite good and some brand-name more expensive ones can be rubbish
1080P, then any cheap ebay DP to HDMI cable will work.
Keep in mind they are DP to HDMI. Not the other way around.
Needed one a few weeks ago and just went to the local computer store and bought one. Was a display port 2 cable.
Had problems with flickering initially and eventually realised that the graphics card could not handle 2x monitors at 4K, so had to go down to 2k and they are fine.
Bought around 10 of these for my office a year ago none have failed yet seem ok, only 1080p though

Do they support the following?

No - the monitors have 2 x HDMI input only
The desktop have 1 x HDMI and 2 x DP
Thus looking to connect 2 monitors as 1 x HDMI cable and 1 x DP out to HDMI in cable
Cheers
I get my cables from https://www.selby.com.au/cables/hdmi-cables.html
Aussie biz - prices look ok for decent quality - bookmarked
I have connected all our new DELL monitors to our ex lease SFF PCs using HDMI to DP cables from Jaycar.
All working perfectly
(as an aside I bought a few DP to Female HDMI plug adaptors on Fleabay which were garbage and were tossed into the recycling. Simply didn't work)
