[NSW, VIC] Select Dewalt Garden Power Tools Clearance Multiple Stores @ Bunnings

280

Hi everyone. For the Dewalt Users out there. Bunnings at least in some Sydney/VIC stores are clearing out their dewalt garden battery powered tools. This is very disappointing to me as a dewalt user however is a opportunity to grab a bargain for ozbargainers.

Consistant prices I have seen in stores including: Northmead, Rouse Hill, Marsden Park, Castle Hill, Mcgrath Hill, Rydelmere, Smithfield, Villawood and perhaps other stores in Syd but can't verify that.

Sighted:
- Brushless chainsaw 54v flexvolt $419, rrp $529. (Northmead sold it to me for $210 see picture, 5 left in this store (1 demo model without chain and no box $150).

  • Brushless 18v blower, 6ah battery and fast charger kit $319, rrp $399 (Northmead sold it to me for $159.60)

  • Brushless 18v chainsaw $279, rrp $329

  • Brushless whipper snipper 54v flexvolt $339, rrp $429.

  • Brushless flexvolt mower with 2 x 6ah battery and fast charger $659, rrp $829.

There is also a 18v brushless whipper snipper and hedgers floating around however can't confirm prices as I haven't seen any.

Hopefully this post helps others get a great dewalt bargain, good luck in your hunt for a proper black & yellow deal. Also don't forget hoody redemption at https://www.guaranteedtough.com.au for buying some of the garden power tool range.

The key here is to ask staff for a better deal, especially on demo stock. They want to clear it out.

  • Damn that’s some sharp pricing with batteries included. Especially on the lawn mower.

  • +3

how did you manage to get them cheaper ?

  • +1

Right place right time I guess. Guy said half the current price for dewalt deleted lines.

    • Stopped into Bunnings Northmead. The pricing you got was a definite no-go (I wasn't the first to ask either). Lady at the counter said someone might lose their job for that discount! I hope not…

      • Really. Guy seemed motivated to clear the lot. I even checked twice with him about the price. At the counter the lady even double checked with him. No one will lose there job over it. That's BS.

      • No one will lose their job. Bunnings doesn't have a checking system with pricing and all. That lady just didn't want to help and threw you some story. :(

  • Anyone spotted these in Vic?

    • Seen in Mornington, prices as above with very limited stock

  • Power tools too? Or only garden gear?

  • Geez cracking deals for those already invested in the eco system, great price on chainsaw

  • Is Bunnings looking to drop the Dewalt line (outdoor equipment) altogether ???

Or is there a new range coming out to replace the existing outdoor tools ?

    • +2

There's a stack missing from Bunning's website that they used to stock as well, even if they didn't have it in store.
Dunno what's going on, but I'll be damned if they think I'm going to be buying Ozito and Ryobi only.

      • On my recent trips to Bunnings (in the past 4 weeks) I've noticed less and less Dewalt products in the "power garden" aisle.

        The plot thickens….

        • +1

Meanwhile Victa is selling THREE lines of battery power tools. Coincident?

  • +1

Looks like they are dropping garden powered tools only. Not tool shop tools. Also appears to be echo lines as well and I saw some homelite stuff too amongst other things. Also mentioned in the forums here. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/575587

Obviously bunnings wanted this to happen quietly.

  • I paid $99 for that blower back in the day, but wow not with a 6Ah battery. That's awesome, you got the better deal for sure.

  • The had a few things at Gosford NSW on random shelves, but not those prices…(last weekend)
The best I can remember was the Mower without any batteries for $400. needs 2 batteries to run. Originally 600+ i think
They had one on display as the front desk for $400 as ex-display and looked a bit dusty.
Then out in the gardening section they had about 6 in boxes for the same price, new.

  • 3 at Blacktown. Batt and charger pickup from the power tools desk

  • Do any actually carry the hedge trimmer skin ?
Have had my eye out since being refunded on a recent promo due to overselling.

  • Anyone know if they are selling in any of them stores in Melbourne?

    • Yes melbourn stored doing blower kits $200
And I was able to get mower kits from $659 down to $400
      All vic stores on sale

      • +1

Great price for mower kit. Batteries alone are worth that.

  • Went to a few Bunnings stores in Melbourne today (northern suburbs). Stock has been completely cleared out.

    • same. tried nunawading and eltham. all gone

    • Nothing left at Taylors Lakes or Caroline Springs VIC either

  • Went to 2 stores today in SYD:

    • Brushless 18v chainsaw $279, rrp $329
    • Brushless chainsaw 54v flexvolt $419, rrp $529.
    • Brushless 18v blower, 6ah battery and fast charger kit $319, rrp $399
    • Brushless 18v blower skin $199, rrp $249

    • Brushless flexvolt mower with 2 x 6ah battery and fast charger $659, rrp $829.

    • Brushless flexvolt mower without battery and charger, $399 (must be the demo)

    I didn't buy anything.

  • Less with powerpass

  • +1

      • +1

        What a bargain. Well done.

      • +1

Why do you need so many mowers and blowers?

        • For people I no who can’t get the prices I got so I help them out

      • Great price! Which store & any stock left? Upload receipt?

      • Could you please upload receipt photo. Thanks

      • Did the blower kits actually have the batteries in them or did you have to go to the tools shop and get one? I just bought a kit, went home, charger but no battery, went back to the store and they refused to give me a battery. Long augment and ended up returning it…

        • All mine had batteries x2 and charger even at $200

          • @Dex38313: That's for the mower yeah? What about the blower kit?

            • @nextdoormaths: Blower kits I was getting for $160

              • @Dex38313: Yep I'm asking about whether or not the batteries were in the actual boxes. My kit had a charger but no battery and they refused to give me a battery when I went back in.

                • @nextdoormaths: All mine had charger n batterie
Mowers has charger n 2 batteries as I check befor they leave the store

  • +1

I got the blower kit today for $100!

    • Which store? any stock left?

      • Box Hill - I couldn't see any kits left but they had a few skins

  • whipper sniper

Gives you a vicious tongue lashing?

  • Seems like discounts only happen in Vic?

  • No stock in Coburg, Thomastown, Preston or Fairfield. Staff didn’t even want to know about it!

The only thing I did find was an ex display Mower skin for $500. That’s the best they’d do.

    • Found a couple of mowers and blowers at Sunshine VIC if anyone is searching. They wouldn’t discount on the clearance price though.

      • What were the clearance prices? The same was that one mower I found FYI.

        • Standard clearance price, $659 for the Mower & $319 for the Blower kit - They still had a few left.
They wouldn't price match as I was only after one of each, maybe if I offered to buy multiple quantities, my chances would of been better.

  • I just got the last 54v line trimmer for $199 at Seven Hills. There is bargains around, just gotta hunt for it.

  • Just picked up the Mower (Display skin only) for $300. I have the batteries so works for me.

  • +1

I went to box hill bunnings at about 1:30. They had 2 blower skins $40, 1x chainsaw skin $150. Demo without chain, unknown price. They also offered the chainsaw kit for $200, no price yet but if you speak one of the guys they can do it for $200 if not sold. These were all 18v. Sorry forgot to take a photo but it’s on the floor in the trimmer aisle.

    • Which box hill store mate?

  • +1

Lowest I could get the Blower kit for was $229 at Mornington. Got the hedge trimmer for $170. That was today, still had one blower kit left and 4-5 hedge trimmers.

My blower kit had the battery and charger in it, if you open the box and it's missing I'm guessing someone stole it out of the box and it went unnoticed.

Called around for the mower kit but lowest I could get was $590… Not willing to purchase at that price. Would have loved to pick one up at $200.

    • +1

Damn. I bought 3 blower kits, missing battery in all of them. I think/hope they weren't stolen and instead taken out by staff to prevent stealing. An employee pointed to a steel box on top of the aisle and said they keep batteries in there. When the manager came out he wasn't having a bar of it. He insinuated that I had taken the batteries out and was trying to scam 3 additional batteries. I've never been treated so poorly by an employee. I ended up refunding them all and will call up the store manager to lodge a complaint.

      • Yeah that's poor form, I'm finding it really is hit and miss depending on the stores and who works there.

Mornington did still have the one blower kit on Saturday, not sure if that's local for you. Maybe call some others and get them to check the box for you over the phone to see if the battery is in there first.

  • If any one is lucky enough to find the brush cutters I got three tonight for $150 $150 in boxes and the display for $100 all down from $339

    • How are you getting them to drop their prices so low?

I got laughed at by the manager for suggesting $159 for the blower kit and was told they'd lose money so would never do it? They refused to price match on deleted or clearance items with other stores as well.

I'm guessing a lot of it has to do with who is working? I would have loved the mower kit for the prices you were getting, lowest I could deal was $599 and that was for a display model.

      • Buy the lot so you clear out the stock and they will do you a deal.
I was after one and they wouldn’t drop a cent off the clearance price. Also spoke to service desk who called the manager and said we won’t price match clearance items from other stores.

      • I ring Bunnings and ask for dewalt stock
Then I offer a price then get a yes I drive in and get them ….
I got mower kits $200 chainsaws skins $200 brushcutter skins $150 and blower kits $160 just by asking as most stores will look after me in Victoria

  • Carrum Downs VIC store has
    1 x 18v 30cm chainsaw skin $279
    2 x 54v 40cm chainsaw $419
    3 x 18v blower skin $199

Staff explained to me that 54v will only be special order and 18v will still be stocked with latest dewalt products.

    • I got 3 blower kits there Thursday $160 as a price match

      • +1

Mate! I was looking for a kit so that I didn't have to buy a battery by itself. Got an Ozito chainsaw kit instead for a pretty good deal.

    • Staff explained to me that 54v will only be special order and 18v will still be stocked with latest dewalt products.

Garden tools only or in general?
It does show who Bunnings cater to, if it's for all DeWalt tools.

DeWalt have released some amazing 54V tools in the US that will come to us soon, and if they're only available via special order, well, other companies will get my business.

      • Considering that only the garden tools are on clearance I would think it's only the garden tools.

  • +1

Anyone seen any hedgetrimmers marked down?
I just found a bunch but still at RRP

    • Iv been to 15 bunnings in vic only found mower kits blower kits and chainsaw skins and trimmer skins no hedge trimmers

    • Where have you seen them?

      • Not hedgetrimmers only line trimmers

    • Got the hedge trimmer down to $170 at Mornington.

  • I haven't seen any hedge trimmers reduced either. Also a few bunnings are actually displaying them in the garden power tools section again. Bunnings is been so weird about dewalt.

    • Got told last night by a power garden guy the $259 hedge trimmers were 'suspended' when he checked the price. Hopefully 'deleted' is their next status.

    • +3

Got mine down to $170 at Bunnings in Mornington. They still had 4-5 left when I purchased on Saturday. Speak to Dave, he runs the show there for garden power tools.

  • managed to get the mower @ $415 new in box
    18v chainsaw skin only $180
18v whipper snipper $100 skin only

    • Anymore left and where from?

      • +3

Don't you hate those comments lol. Why bother telling us if no location or stock levels.

      • I purchased from Smithfield, they have 54v chainsaw and blower left
Also display mower but no batteries or charger offered to me at $208: not bad as you can buy a kit with 2x 6ah batteries and dual charger for $432 however you will be missing the safety key needed to use the mower (you can buy replacements on eBay)

        • Can you please upload receipts?

  • -1

Still some bargains to be had about. Stay on the lookout.

  • I just picked up 3 line trimmers last night pakenham bunnings $240
    In box

  • Sunbury Bunnings has two trimmers 1 in box 1 display
And 3 blower kits if some wonts to get them as a price match

  • +1

Managed to pick up 2 blower kits for $210 each. Happy to offload if anyone is keen in this thread.

    • Whereabouts ?
      NSW / VIC ?

      • Sorry mate. Shit of me not to say. This was in VIC. Broadmewdows way

    • Ignore this. All done.

    • Springvale Bunnings had 3 I got them $160 as a price match
They also had the mower kit $659 I paid $400
And chainsaws I paid $100 each

  • FYI if anyone got the hedge trimmer then kudos to you! They’re actually a live item back on the site now.
