First of all, I don't want to go too cheap n nasty as internodes a great ISP but I did notice iiNet and Aussie have similar plans to the one I'm on for $5 cheaper.
Just thought I'd get your opinions on some of the other companies with great tech support and good prices. If I can get a better deal with regards to price and speed while keeping Aussie tech support for when things go wrong then I'll be happy :)
I was with Internode too for several years - after the iiNet/TPG purchase, service started going downhill (longer waits and worse service). I'm glad I left.
Aussie seems to have good reviews so far, I'd probably go with them.
I expected prices to go down by now with the new 200mbps tier. It was about 1-2 years ago when I signed up to Exetel for $59 a month unlimited at 50/20. Now there are all these shitty tiers, with prices, in general, going up.
This deal seems pretty good, even after the reduced rate. No clue about how good/bad the isp is though.
If you want a high quality network then consider Future Broadbands NBN25/5 500G plan that has data banking and is $59. You also get a static IP address included in that price. Once you are a customer you can pay in advance bringing the price down to $52.28 a months. (8% discount if you pay 6 months in advance)
The data banking means that you can save up unused data and if you have a blow out month and go over you can just use up the banked data.
As for tech support, its limited hours but they do unofficially respond to tickets over the weekends… and combine that with a very reliable and stable network. I've been with them a couple of years now via FTTN and have had no reason to contact support… Any questions I've had I just use their website Chat client..
Go Aussie. iiNet is owned by TPG, so not sure their Customer Service team is still located in Australia.
