  • Which Samsung mobile has dual SIM support? I can't buy a mobile without dual sim.

S20 series has eSim and Physical

      • Unfortunately not all carriers support eSim.

ZIP is 100x better with more options. Afterpay is locked to 4 payments. ZIP you can adjust your payments to suit your needs.

  • I almost didn't buy this phone after trying the software in store.

I couldn't stand One UI coming from a P20 Pro with EMUI. I solved this by using gesture navigation and installing Nova Launcher. Bixby, fortunately, was easy to hide. I uninstalled many of the Samsung apps and hid the ones that I couldn't with Nova Launcher. It still doesn't feel as clean as vanilla Android, however, with these tweaks, I'm happy with it.

Regarding the touchscreen issue, at least for my use, it isn't noticeable. I even tried the touchscreen test tool and wasn't able to get the lines to jump in the same way as videos on Youtube. I have noticed an occasional stop mid-stroke when drawing a word with the keyboard, however, this is rare.

As it's a new phone, it's been difficult finding accessories. Fortunately, there was a screen protector installed out of the box to tie me over. As for a case, I couldn't find one I liked so I'm currently using the Samsung stand case.

    • Fellow Huawei mate!

I've been using Huawei P20 since April 2018 and was thinking of upgrading maybe end of this year with Christmas or Black Friday sales.

I see Samsung S20 FE 5G specs are better, and the 5G model should come with the good processor not the Eonyx (sorry for the spelling), but the Pixel 5 looks cleaner and smoother..

      What ads your thoughts?

      • I upgraded due to the fingerprint reader failing, otherwise, I would have been happy with keeping the phone at least another year. I bought the S20FE due to better specs and them matching the Pixel's 3 years of software updates. Personally, if you don't need it now, i'd hold out and wait for a price drop or something else.

If it's the Pixel, I'd wait for a sale as I don't think the Pixel can compete at its current price point. Having used a phone with Android One and tried a Pixel in-store in between, I preferred them from a software perspective. As mentioned, there is also a lot of bloat on the S20FE, some of which can't be removed.

There are definitely some benefits to having upgraded:
        1. The phone is a lot faster (865/Kirin 970)
        2. Camera seems decent. I haven't fully compared this to the P20 Pro.
        3. The addition of the ultrawide lens is nice
        4. Larger screen
        5. Hole Punch is less intrusive
        6. More screen space as there's no fingerprint reader on the front
        7. Wireless charging
        8. Higher refresh rate over the P20 pro (though I turned this off as I prefer battery life)
        9. Fingerprint reader seems to work well

        Downsides
        1. Only 3 fingerprints can be registered
        2. Opinion: The software

        General positives in my opinion
        1. Flat screen
        2. Texture of the case(plastic) means the phone is usable without a case. The P20 Pro, prior to getting a case had a habit of falling out of pockets.

        • Thanks mate!
Yah, my p20 fell out oh my pocket and cracked a little (camera was spared) yesterday, just as my eBay case arrived. Bummer. Still usable and smooth, just scouting for a potential come sales time.
Thank j you for your input!

    • That's not AU stock though, they are based in HK.

  • Can someone help with restoring whatsapp chat and media, using sd card. I have my old whatsapp is s10 5g , and created local backup and copied that folder to my macbook. Then copied from macbook to sd card and inset that sd card into s20 fe. When i instal new whatsapp, it doesn't find my backup on whatsapp , just tries to find through google drive.

    • From memory, I had to say yes to google drive, it then says 'found local backup'

  • WAIT - NO - WHY - HOW DID THIS END?

    • I mean it was available for a relatively long time

  • Hi OP, will this voucher code (FAST5G) still work when you get stock back? How long is the code valid for?

    • See their comment here

      Hello
I reckon it won't drop any further as we are just clearing excess stock

So I don't think they will be extending this promo for more stock.

    • Yes the same could would work

isnt it still cheaper at JBHIFI with the telstra deal?

    • It is, but not everyone wants to mess around with signing up for a new plan/port in and then cancel. I did it but definitely not something I wanna be doing a lot.

Also takes a month for the ETC bill to come through, so its a whole process lol

  • I'm trying to understand why there is so much hype for this deal when JB Hi-fi were literally giving the phone away for $0 on a Telstra $99/month plan for 12 months which had an ETC of $594?

You could have bought this phone for $594 like I did and it comes pre-installed with a screen protector from the factory.
