Why is ps5 version is more expensive than series x? I don't get it Sony!

No Sony is charging $10 more on all their games, PS4/XB1 games have always been $69 and XSX is $69 but PS5 is $79 even Demon Soul's is $109 with a RRP of $125.
Valhalla RRP on all consoles is $99.95, unrelated to Sony as this is Ubisoft.
Sony has multiple RRP price points in mind but that has nothing to do with Valhalla.

And it depends of the publisher, but Ps5 version is already on disc, no need to download anything.
Whats the downside to buying the ps4 version? You have to download the full game onto the ps5 right? Thats it? Ps5 version only $10 more to have it on physical
Well, you're going to have download the full game either way with the the PS4 version - it's just that the PS5 version has a different box. Not really worth $10, but that's the difference.

There's a dedicated PS5 disc version (the one with the white border and says PS5) - but yes, this PS4 disc version has a free upgrade to that.
Not the whole game. If you have the PS4 version and you want to play the PS5 version, yes you'll have to download basically the whole game. If you have the PS5 version and want to play the PS5 version, most of the data will be loaded from the disc.

I would say the opposite is true. PS4 version can be used on both console and costs less.

No way
This is a disc version. There is no code.
@Mistredo: Not a normal activation like one found on an iTunes gift card - but one that is found within the disc and automatically applied when used by a PS5. Can't tell if it'll be a one-time use or not though.
@jjsu: Sony's detailed the process and it isn't automatic. You have to put the disc in, and then go to the game hub of the game and click the PS5 upgrade button, which is where it will either be free or charge a fee, depending on the publisher's decision per game. Without doing this, it just automatically installs the PS4 version to be played with back compat profile.
If you resell the game, the next person can also redeem/pay for the upgraded version themselves. There would be no way with Sony's chosen process to block a certain disc from being upgraded again on another PS5 console. That would require a key in the box, and they're not doing that.

This was always going to be the price…$68 for day 1 PS4/XB1 release is normal…
We are lucky it isn't $109, even with the $300 worth of DLC the game will eventually see.
I thought it's been $68 for a while (at least for XSX)… I even cancelled my preorder recently.

Just ordered Back to the future 4k - release date tomorrow.
They still haven't shipped it and sometimes amazon doesn't ship till 5 days after release.
It's extremely poor form by Amazon and has happened 4 times with me now, not once have I ever had a release day delivery!!
My preorder came in the mail today! Nice surprise!
