I recently have to sign up a private health fund, and got surprised about what they offer for new signups.
I have seen so many discussion here about switching mobile provider or energy provider to get signup bonus, and these services always treat you as new customer when you switch back.
I wonder if we can do the same to health fund?

I will transfer my cover so the waiting time and benefits I have used will be transferred to new policy
Make sure to confirm with the new fund that they will carry over your waiting periods
Bupa refused to do this for me
by law they have to, contact health ombudsman
@screensaver: Even for extras?
@blonky: onlu if they are breaching their terms and conditions
usually 6 or 12 months to get sign up bonus again, read t and cs
I usually just ask my current provider (bupa) for 1 month off every year to 'price match'.
oh that's a good one, thanks!
Oh, what do you mean by 'price match'?
Usually every year before price increase all the competitors will have a 1 month free signup offer.
Isn’t a wait period when you start unless they waive it?
