XBS Vs XSX - a Lost Battle?

So apparently the official OzB designation for the XBox Series S/X generation of consoles is to be "XBS" per hamza23's comment here

However, pretty much all recent posts have been "labelled" XSX.

Something minor, but I think the community has spoken.

  This issue is currently being discussed by the Moderators and the Power Users.

  Going forward, we'll most likely be adopting:

  • [XSX] for Xbox Series X
  • [XSS] for Xbox Series S

  An official post/update will be released once we've come to an agreement.

    Won't all games run on both consoles anyway? I believe Xbox Series S will be very unpopular so I think XSX would fit best for all scenarios. People with a Series S unit will know it still applies to them.

        If a deal was for the console itself, it'd be in long form in the title, surely. The acronym would be for games / accessories, no?

      We will just use [XSX] at this stage for all Xbox Series games.

      Using [XSS] as well for digital games seems to be confusing (like it's 2 incompatible products), so we won't go ahead with that. We also did not do it previously despite there being a digital version of the Xbox One. Users can determine from the store/post if it's a digital or physical item (as you have stated).

  I've removed that old comment regarding XBS tag, to avoid confusion. After some feedback (including the comment you linked) and discussion with power users it appeared that wasn't the best way to go. Refer to Richard's comment above.

  [XSX] for physical games (majority of posts)
  [XSX, XSS] for digital games
