My understanding is you will get;
- 1 pair of clear single vision prescription glasses,
& - 1 pair of single vision prescription sunglasses (polarised).
This is correct, I went to Specsavers and got 2 pairs, one with and one without polarised lenses.
- 1 pair of clear single vision prescription glasses,
Just be mindful if your glasses prescription is older than 2 yrs old they will not sell you the glasses and waste your time.
Mine was just over 2 yo and I did not want to get it re-checked due to COVID (primarily because i know how close they get to your face) and current prescription being unchanged and they still wouldnt let me to purchase online. As far as I'm aware it's store to store based whether they let you or not. I know my local store was letting people get glasses with current prescription (even if it was outdated) for the moment until COVID restrictions eased. I think as of yesterday they allowed all testing to go ahead as per normal anyway so no reason not to get your eyes tested!
i think this is the same for a lot places. i got the same treatment at OPSM (they quote "duty of care") on Saturday when i went to take advantage of their 20% storewide sale to get prescription lenses for my RB Justins. my prescription had expired by 4 days. the optometrist who did my 2018 test compared my 2008 made glasses and said there was hardly any difference.
had a new test done yesterday, and i wasn't impressed with their sloppy hygiene vs what they promise to do on their website. the chair i sat in was still hot from the previous person, meaning they wouldn't have had a chance to properly clean & sterilise the shared patient instruments. the only thing i saw them do was change that little paper chin strip on that frame they use to examine your eyes. my optometrist did however wear a kn95 mask but that was the same mask he used when seeing the person immediately before me. that's Perth complacency for ya.
as for expired prescriptions, just use an online-only merchant like Clearly. they might even be cheaper depending on your prescription and what options you want.
how much were the lens for rb at opsm? thanks :)
$570, less 20% off = $456
my lenses were OPSM's own brand polarised grey 85%, red mirror, 1.67 index.
would've been cheaper to go with RB's "Flat lens", polarised orange mirror for $530 but RB don't do prescriptions higher than -4.00 :(
Polarised glasses are not that expense. Recently discovered a brand called Cyxus. Built wise is slightly inferior to Rayban aviator, but $30 delivered on ebay is damn solid.
This deal is for prescription polarised glasses primarily. Are those $30 Cyxus glasses prescription?
I see. Thought the offer was free polarised lens on a second pair of glasses.
Thx OP been waiting for this yearly deal!
you better believe it haha. Need to get something back from the heath insurance
Damn….Just saw the T&Cs
Offer available when choosing two pairs from the $149 range or above. Both pairs for the same person.
Price includes single-vision lenses. Other lenses available at an extra cost. Prescription glasses online only.

Use with other offers restricted. Offer valid 1 October – 4 November 2020.Placed an order with them instore on Sunday. Got excited but now disappointed :(
I can confirm their Glen Waverley store in Vic is promoting this offer. I was given this option when I was there on Saturday, but did not like the frames they had available.
Can confirm it's also at the Fountain Gate store as well. Usually they have it just before Summer and then again around Feb I think from memory
Thanks….Will try giving it a go. Got late to call them today. Ordered at SpecSavers Southland. The upper level store
My last Specsavers purchase was earlier in the year around march I think: They had buy one get one free (same price range) and free polarization on whichever you choose.
That being said this is still a decent deal if you need polarized prescription sunnies although they will try to sell you on anti-glare, super-clean, etc but hey that's how they make their cash I guess.
so does that mean we need to get polarised sunglasses in the first pair or we but 2 pairs and one of them comes polarised?
