While caring for my elderly father, I found massive pricing differences for the same product across most providers. If the money was coming from a funded care plan I would just choose the lowest cost reputable provider I could find online; if we had to fund it ourselves then I would also look on eBay and Gumtree etc. Either way it would take a few hours of effort searching online :-( good luck

    • Man I should start saving more money in case my parents need a full time nurse one day. In case I need a full time nurse one day. Can't imagine trying to manage a care home for one or two while in the middle of work.

Independence Australia was significantly cheaper for wound care than anywhere else I looked when I was caring for my elderly mother with a long term need for dressings. That was a few years ago though so may have changed. Places that fulfil orders for NDIS all seem to have put their prices up.

  • Beat me to it.
Was also going to recommend Independence Australia, used them for when my wife came home from hospital with tubing from operation still in her. Also depending on your circumstances should see if you can order on some sort of medical plan to see if you can get the price down or ask what you could do help with this.
