Seems to be a mini price war flying to Bali, including from Sydney - don't often see it that cheap from over here.
Oddly enough picked this up via wotflight who had it way too expensive (about $1100 rtn), zuji gets about $600 rtn with Garuda ($592.48 8th-14th Feb). Checked the garuda website (http://www.garuda-indonesia.com/) who gave reasonable prices - abt $700 rtn with extended dates (ie more than Feb); then checked adioso who found jetstar with a stunning $249 OW but only on 29th January, couldn't find a return that cheap.

Worth looking around if you're planning a trip to Bali early next year.

    Price war? Probably more like trying to fill seats. I'm sure every time an Australian gets arrested there, scores of people think, "oh, let's go to Bali".

    The key points not listed in any travel pamphlet at Flight Centre:

    • very high threat of terrorist attack (listed multiple times in different bullet points)
    • Legionnaires' disease
    • Rabies

    Then you got 'bali belly', malaria, rife corruption of police authorities, a real risk at being charged and consequently jailed in horrendous conditions for not paying off airport officials who will blackamil you with drug smugglling, and beggers…. oh my god the beggers on the streets. You've never seen anything like it.

    A place that hates westerners so much yet is still considered a 'holiday destination'. The open contempt is thick in the air arround you. For a place that values the tourist dollar so much, they dont hide the fact that they hate your guts…. but will happily take your money just the same.

    Don't do it folks. There are much better places to spend your money… safer, cleaner, better value.
    I couldnt get out of there fast enough.
