Is there anyone flying at present, either in Australia or O/S. Airlines are saying for the protection of passengers it’s critical to travel with their own mask and many carriers have now made it compulsory to wear a face covering in cabins. Some airlines like qantas are nor seating passengers in close proximity to each other. If so and the flight is long haul of long enough to require eating and drinking, how will you manage? There’s no way to be sure that your fellow passengers aren’t infected. If you’re sitting close someone or a passenger passes your aisle seat, that may not be very safe, because their air droplets will reach you. Researchers say they cannot prevent direct transmission from adjacent passengers.
The problem on long haul flights is the need to take in liquids and sustenance. How will passengers stay protected and manage eating or drinking, when they have to pull the mask down? But how does a passenger eat and drink while wearing a mask? Eating and drinking requires passengers to take off their masks.
I'm interested to know what forum members think.
Is anyone flying at present?

Considering you're sharing recycled air for long haul… Yeah you will either get it or not.
You're not sharing recycled air
Its shared air though, everything coughed and exhaled from everyone in the plane, you will breath to some degree.

Some airlines provide both masks and face shields. Meals come pre-packaged and sealed as well.

Right now, no - wrote this comment on whilst seating at my chair at home.
I think if you are worried, don't travel in an aircraft or eat-in at a restaurant - what's your concern?
Or are you doing a school assignment and seeking for possible answers to your homework?
Jimmy Fallon suggests loading your mask up with food, like a horse's feed bag.
recovered from your cake yet?
I think pilots are.

I'm high as a kite right now.
Yeah I've had a few flights in the past few months, ADL -> DRW and once the same via BNE. Wear my mask in the airport and on the plane but I do pop it down to eat and drink. Bringing my own food and drink. Jetstar still offers food / drink but only pre-orders.
Only in Video Games

Udon Thani > Bangkok
Bangkok > Udon ThaniVietjet was fairly strict, no food or drink served. Airasia still served food.
I have also been on a number of busses, before Covid19 they were packed now hardly anyone is traveling using busses.
Flew SYD-ADL return recently. Apart from the emptiness of the airport and mask wearing the experience was relatively normal. Flight there was packed, return flight was a bit emptier (though it was a Saturday afternoon and many would have opted to come back on Sunday instead). Mask wearing was not enforced and temperature was never taken. Only health procedure was arriving at Adelaide Airport, which was supervised by AFP and a few basic questions were asked.

Sydney to Adelaide as well I believe.
