Apple TV+ App Launch on Sony Android TV's (Finally)

This was meant to happen about 6 months ago but starting from today Sony TV's will get the Apple TV+ App

Initially the app will be pushed to TV's via a software update (not in the Play Store) but long term it will be added to the Play Store.

X900H Series TV's will get it from Today.
"most" 2019, 2020 and "select" 2018 TV's will see it added by the end of the year.

Good for those who have a few months left on their free AppleTV+ subscriptions but do not own a Apple TV Box.
(Free Subs of Apple TV were recently extended to February 2021 as long as you have not already requested to cancel)

      Great series! There's actually a few decent ones on there, Morning Wars was another good one, and The Banker was a good movie too. Not enough on there to keep me paying for yet another subscription service, but it's been a promising start.

      I assume it will be possible when it hits the Play Store
      Initially it will be pushed to the TV's directly and wont be available on Play Store.

      I assume it will be managed like a Sony App, and will update via TV Update etc instead of via Play Store App Updates.

        From what i have read, its not an android app initially, its being pushed by the Sony Update System but from what i can see it requires Andriod TV to work.

        An Android App will be launched at a "later date" i suspect for "unsupported" Sony TV's

      Yup, someone just needs to ADB into the TV and pull the APK. The APK might be MAC bound though.

      It installs on my Chromecast with Google TV, but is automatically disabled…

    It's about to launch on Xbox also, the app is already being tested by some users on the insiders build. Happy days :)
