PSA AppleCare Plus Can Now Be Paid Monthly & Is Ongoing

It looks like Apple have recently changed their AppleCare Plus setup, and you can now pay monthly. Its also my understanding that as long as you keep paying then AppleCare Plus will continue, even after 24 months.

Might be a useful change for Apple fans.

Yes, they are inside computers to keep them cool.
      ;)

    • gonna attack dyson market, vacuums next (which they already do quite well, sucking up all ur moneeeeeeyyyy)

  • Not sure where you getting your info.
Apple care in Australia is a single purchase only.

The monthly plan option is only available in the us and is a completely different product in what it includes.

Also Apple care in the us is a “plan” with a term.
24 months for phones / 36m for Mac etc
So it does not cover you after these terms expire.
You also pay a premium to pay by the month so you pay more than the one off cost.

    • The premium for monthly plans is nothing new. Most insurance works like that.

      • Very True.
Although my car insurance doesn't cost extra to pay monthly :)

Well NRMA charges extra for monthly payments.

I just checked on a phone I purchased recently and it gives me the option of $13.49 per month until canceled or $269 for 24 months.

        I stand corrected.

        The OP is correct.

So it seems it works like this:
You can pay in a single upfront amount, then extend monthly at the expiry of this period.
        or
Pay Monthly until cancelled (but can not switch to a single payment option)

The website i finally found on Apple is contradictary, it says you can pay monthly or upfront for 24/36m then later says you can continue your coverage

In these countries and regions, when you purchase AppleCare+ coverage for your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you can choose to pay monthly or pay upfront for 24 months of coverage. For Apple Watch Edition and Hermes, you can pay upfront for 36 months

If you paid in full upfront
If you paid upfront, you can purchase coverage on a monthly basis after the 24 or 36 months is over. To purchase the new coverage, go to mysupport.apple.com. Or on your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > About, then tap AppleCare+ Coverage Available and follow the onscreen instructions. This monthly plan automatically renews until canceled. You can't pay upfront for an additional 24 or 36 months.

In Australia, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, you can purchase the new coverage within 60 days of the end date of your original coverage. In Japan, you can purchase the new coverage within 30 days of the end date of your original coverage.

If you choose to continue coverage, your coverage will be subject to the then-current monthly AppleCare+ Terms and Conditions.

        If you pay monthly
If you pay monthly, you can't switch to a plan that is paid upfront. But your plan coverage may continue beyond 24 or 36 months, on a monthly basis, until canceled.

Also looks like it was launched in July

      Don't you?

      • When it comes to me yes, from me no.

Just strange to me and unnecessary expense, owned Samsung phones all my life, never had them fail, dropped them plenty of times.

    • Ofc, apple is not charity
