Still $40 for some boards of plastic sounds to much
The set you have pointed out is the mini, which is a lot smaller. This is an excellent set for a Christmas gift, very well made and stylish
That's like saying $200 for some bits of rubber sounds too much (for a tyre)
That's not tho.
These boards cost close to nothing to produce and require just a minimum equipment. Metal stand is probably the most expensive part. So the price is mostly for their marketing.
Tyres are a very different thing tho.
great! more microplastics down the drain.
more jobs for the plumbers. win win
What's your suggested alternative for a chopping board? Wood?
Bamboo
bamboo blunt knives

Stainless steel.
I don't get why these are expensive. $50 should be rrp. $25 on sale.
Anyone figured out how to not cut the plastic? My problem is, wood, or plastic, my knife would cut it. How is this any different?
Based on the reviews, my problem exactly: "Extremely easy to get scratch on this plastic surface"
I've got a JJ cutting board, not this model, the first cut into the new board was painful, but then you just get used to it.
Does the plastic come off though? My IKEA ones did, would get on the food.
Haven't noticed it on the food, it's not like it's chipping off into bits.
I'd imagine these would be better quality than ikea ones? not sure..
The first cut is the deepest
We had this and I haven't noticed it. My partner does the cooking tho I wash them. They are scored but no obvious bits coming off (I could be blind or maybe your knife is sharper but I think it's ok)
For plastic boards, I believe the chopping board is supposed to get cut. If not, it means your knife is getting blunt.
cut it in the air
Do people really prefer cutting on plastic? There’s no give, no feedback cutting compared to a nice wooden board. Plus digesting tiny bits of plastic constantly vs wood? Seems yuk.
nice one. paid $60+ Costco IIRC
