However, one review stated it was 40gbp which is much cheaper than even the Prime sale. I would buy it 100% for that price, but can't seem to find any stock in the UK.
Any other recommendations? I'm not in a rush, but would love a nice set.

The change in colour for the crowns don't look very professional/traditional - but if you're into that kind of thing.
I could be wrong but there may be issues getting wooden products through customs?
Last time I ordered a wooden product through amazon it ended up 'Lost in Transit' and they just refunded my money for it.
Plenty of Australian reviews, and some are sold local. Good point tho, but I assume this wood has been treated etc
I know this is old. But we ordered a wooden chess set, pieces and box from House of Staunton in the US and it came through just fine. I think it depends on the product, if it's a wooden product that might be at risk of carrying dirt or some sort of biological risk, then it'll be scruitinised.
Thought I'd check the forums after my purchase. Just got this one from House fo Staunton for $256 free postage. Reviews are pretty good and the Knight's have some detail on them. Did some research and was going to go with Amazon Weiel but thought for about $100 more I can get a really good quality set that I will be happy with.

It's a tough choice, because there seems many are made in Poland and the quality looks really good and the reviews look good but I noticed that obviously they're a lot cheaper buying from Amazon Europe than here.
I think those sets for the $60 $70 mark they seem to be on sale in the UK is much better value them when they're $120 here in Australia

That's a cute set but is it really $150? Wooden ones made of light wood are great for families and this set looks nice. Wouldn't surprise me if you can get one just as nice for cheaper. Have you tried ebay to see if anyone is randomly selling an even nicer one second hand for less?
