  • I just bought slimier item less than $20.
Not Aluminum Alloy but does work well.

      Not sure I want a slimy lamp…

    • +3

Doesn't look like those do white temperature, which may or may not be important.
For me it was a big part of the purchase.

FWIW, these TaoTronics are very well regarded, and this is a good price for them. As always, you can find a slightly worse imitation for notably cheaper. YMMV.

  • Thanks. Grabbed one

  • Got it. Thanks OP

  • bought TT-DL13 yesterday.
    should've waited for this

    • +1

On Amazon? Just cancel it…. simple.

    • +1

Bought one of those as well - received it this morning. I've started the returns process and it seems pretty simple. Just chuck back into the Amazon box and return it to a Parcelpoint location / Post office.

      • The worst part is you have to print the label if you don't have a printer at home other than that yeah it's pretty simple.

Have done that once and they refunded me without even inspecting the item. what can I say - very good customer service :)

        • I have a refund process going but with no printer I'm wondering if I can go to officeworks or thr post office to print it out.

    • +2

I bought a 13 then cancelled for a 16, I think I'm happy with that one though - this one doesn't look like it rotates at the head

      • Thanks for this comment - saved me a return! I'll keep the 13 I bought yesterday.

    • Thanks for all the responses..
      bought this one as well.

will initiate the return over the weekend

  • +1

I bought the DL16 yesterday for around $75.. I wonder if I would be better off with my money on this for half the price.

    • If it makes you feel any better, i just looked into the same question and have decided I will avoid this one and go for the next DL16 deal because it has so many extra adjustments.

      • I didn't realise it had so many more adjustments. The main one for me was that the head can rotate and it will fast charge a phone.
But don't know if that is worth double…

        • +1

It’s not really double. And you’re better off rationalising it by asking yourself if you would pay $30 for a significantly more convenient light. I look at the two hinge design on the DL22 and imagine myself cursing at it every time I try to position the light where I want it. If you really want to know you made the right decision, just buy both and then return one :)

          • @eggboi: Thanks guys, you convinced me to keep the DL16 I bought yesterday.

        • I don't know about fast charging..

Edit : I have also cancelled mine lol I didnt realise the limited rotation. I can also imagine myself cursing everytime I'm using it. Thx a bunch

          • @sauce2k: Faster*?
It does have 2A/5V though (10W) which can fast charge I think current iPhones?

  • In the past it has been priced for $41.99 when on special.

    • Yes I noticed on camelx3 that RRP had previously been 69.99 so either it was a jack prior to discount to make the savings look bigger or there has been a price increase as with many things presumably due to corona..

  • Thx OP I missed out on dl13 and 16 yesterday grabbed this one instead

  • +1

    Respect OP ✊

I had a price alert on CCC, you beat it no update yet!

  • another one (DL19) here: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07KQ58X1W

    • 200 lumens less than DL22

      • +1

True, but if DL22 sells out, at least there's another option

      • 550 vs 400?

Wattage is not correct on Amazon for the DL19 as it shows 15W. On site it's 9W and DL22 is without specifications so cannot check

        • There's a table that compares all the different models

          • -1

            @achyd1: Where is said table?

            • @plague69: Amazon, you literally just scroll down to Product Description

  • +1

is this one better than the TT-DL13 one?

    • This one is made out of metal and is sleeker.
But DL13 seems to have more lighting options and maybe more adjustments.

In saying that I don't think you would get this one and be disappointed with the amount of lighting options. They all have so many.

  • is there a comparison website which compares all these models?

    • There's a comparison table on the product page on Amazon

  • I would personally go for the bulky old fashioned lamp shade type so I can use whatever bulb I want. When these led go out, there is no replacing…

  • Would be interested in the TT-DL16 if there is an sub $80 offer…

Also, plug looks like US plug.

    USB is only 5V/1A

  • +1

why is this lamp so popular? seems pretty pricey but possibly missing something?

    • Good call… I guess people attracted to shiny and a big number before the % sign?

This one is cheaper and has wireless charging, but it's not metal so no go i suppose? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07GZJ5CMH

      • If you are after wireless charging go for it (and not massively cheaper when compared to this deal).

The Taotronics are well regarded for their quality as evidenced by the overwhelming 5 star reviews

  • I thought I bought the plastic one yesterday, was going to try to cancel then realised I did not actually add it to the cart when I purchased a few other items. I'm pleased as I wanted this metal one anyway.

  • Thanks! Bought one for the daughter. Don't forget cashback & 3% off gift cards via Suncorp

    • I don't think you get any cashback. Bought one yesterday and didn't get any email.

  • +1

Genuine question - what do people use this for? Reading? Work? I can’t think of any reason but trying hard to convince myself to buy it.

    • I use it at my home work desk so it would give my webcam better lighting/exposure during conference calls.

    • +1

We have this model on the kitchen bench because the ceiling light is positioned in such a way that you cast a shadow over the bench. Very useful when you want more light when preparing food.

  • +2

    Stock is back guys

  • If I don't need the charging function which model is better at affordable price?

  • Thanks OP for this deal. I had the Xiaomi 1S sitting in the cart since forever wondering if I should pull the trigger. It is $99 for a glorified lamp with Wi-Fi. This deal is much better!
