Any hand blenders like this safe for enamel pots? Ones with Plastic surrounding the blade instead of metal perhaps?

    • They are perfectly fine for enamel. As for non stick, just gently move it instead of a scraping motion.

      • Got scratches on an old enamel pot using one of these..

        • Give me a sec, ill check up on your thing.

OK, so this model doesn't come with a plastic guard that attaches at the end. Only really expensive models by Kitchen Aid and Bosch have that.

Only 1 website mentions that you can hold it firmly at the bottom of your pans and not move it to blend. But they all say they put the mixture into the plastic jug or chopper.

As for your enamel, it shouldn't have scratched but they mention its unsafe to use it if the damage is severe.

Sorry, I cant find any more info, read through the manuals for this model.

@StarvingOat: Thanks for this reply I’m really impressed that you went to such effort.

Keeping the community great. I’ll have a look for ones with plastic guards

        • The Breville one seems to have plastic/rubber lining at the end, not sure if that's enough to safeguard against scratching enamel/non-stick surfaces, but you might want to check those out. RRP is $99 so not too expensive, just wait for decent sales.

Need to change the plug as it is UK version ?

    • Ah, didn't even think about that

    • +1

I think it would be UK since theres no mention of it in the amazon page. If we are lucky it might be AU since amazon put this in the main deals section

    • UK plug. Should be alright with just a cheap EU to AU adapter as it is 240v. Should be ok with AU without converter.

I bought the Bosch one yesterday without attachments which is around 43.68 AUD and has great reviews. Also from Amazon UK.

      • UK plug and EU plug are not the same. Rectangular 3 prong vs round 2 prong

        • Soz but yeah no need to convert voltage. Cheap adapter with whatever it comes with to AU should work :D

Thanks OP. Needed one as well

Allways can get the Kmart one only $15.00

    https://www.kmart.com.au/product/stick-mixer/2127872

    • I'm more interested in the chopper and whisk. Can chop onions, ginger/garlic, carrots, tomatoes etc. The whisk for baking ever since covid started.

        There's also this
        https://www.kmart.com.au/product/stick-mixer-with-chopper-se…

Aldi's most recent special Buy from this Saturday included everything there except for the whisk attachment for $20 also, I picked one up myself this past weekend and it works a treat.

        • That's not bad at all. Would come out to be 39$ after shipping. Aussie plug and warranty.

        • The Tefal one has 800W motor compared to Kmart's 300W and 400W, doesn't that make the Tefal one more powerful?

          • @Banana: Oh probably. I was just tossing out options because of the talk about perhaps needing adapter plugs earlier.

I've been able to blend a fairly full beaker of nuts and soft+hard veggies and fruit with my Aldi one without issue.

Kmart is great and all I but wouldn’t trust them for small handheld appliances like these. Just had a Kmart hand mixer die after the motor blew trying to mix cream cheese…it only lasted about 4 or 5 uses.
Cheap products are great for the wallet until you have to buy them over and over again.

      • Very easy to replace though…

        • +2

Yeah but why replace a product that didn’t work for an identical product that will inevitably die and can’t handle the tasks it’s supposed to be able to do? Believe me, I was in the same boat; cheap/easy to replace was appealing to me, but for items like these I’d rather wait for a reputable product to go on sale to have something reliable that will last for life. I have plenty of Kmart products, just nothing with moving parts
